Last thing a fighter wants to do is injure himself in the gym. All the benefits that are reaped by Joe Schmoe by doing compound lifts are already accounted for by all the grappling and wrestling an MMA artist does during fight training.

Gonzaga was training to increase his lactic threshold. More than likely maintaining his strength and power on seperate days.

i was watching this thing on gonzaga(the guy who KOd cro cop) and it showed his training. now obviously you would think O-Lifts and compound lifts would make up the majority of his lifts. Wrong. all he did was machine lifts. waht surprised me even more was that he didnt even do things like leg press or chest press he was doing pec decs and leg extensions. this was the guy who KOd Crop Cop with his own special move. does this surprise anyone else as much as it surprised me?
