As far as the cobra in that video goes, almost every snake charmer has their snake's fangs or venom glands removed, or have their mouth sewed up. They are probably teaching their child to not be afraid of performing snakes so that the kid will pick up the family trade. While at the same time, they will be teaching their kid about the dangers of snakes that haven't been fixed.
Anyhow, I feel sorry for the snake. The snake is taken out of its environment to perform for people all day. It suffers from lack of enzymes to break down food properly until they get sickly and die. Many charmers don't feed their snakes, and just keep buying new snakes for snake dealers, that way they don't have to unsew their mouth than have to sew it back up after every meal. I think that is a huge animal rights violation.
