I usually work each body party twice a week, doing 3 or 4 excerises for each body part i just changed my workout plan so ill be doing each body part once a week but ill be taking more time and doing more excersises, i was thinking id do any where from 5 to 7 excersises per muscle group is that enough? I just read an article in muscle fitness magazine on the ultimate pec workout which had 8 different excersises i was thinking of doing all 8 today and then doing some fore arms and have that be it, and then doing the same thing next wednesday so id have a week to rest my chest and forearms.

I do one exercise per bodypart, rest paused for 3 total sets.

I do two straight to failure exercises for back and legs.

How many sets of each exersise are you planning on doing???? And how long do you plan on working out each session???

I will do anywhere from 4 total sets (bis) to 9 total sets (back) with my workout completed in under 60 minutes.

usually 3 sets 10-15 reps, prolly work out 60-90 minutes

What are your goals with this program?

Posted by: AusieG

Competitive Bodybuilding/Fitness model, ive never competed but im thinkin ill compete next summer when im turning 19, id like to be as big as Jay Cutler and Ronnie Coleman someday, it may be impossible but im gunna try my best anyway to see how big i can get.

hope ur planning on juicing hardcore if u wanna be as big as jay n ronnie. If u are looking for mass u need to do 4-6 sets of 10-12 reps per exercise (hypertrophy) with 45-90 secs rest between sets.

I dont think their is a set protocol for hypertrophy... especially rest periods.

I rest 2-4 minutes at MINIMUM between my major sets.

Step 1: Take every Muscle and Fitness magazine you have and put them in a big pile in your back yard.

Step 2: Liberally apply gasoline or any flammable liquid over the entire pile.

Step 3: Light the pile on fire.

Step 4: Urinate on the burning pile of crap magazines.

You should read our stickies here. Body part training does not produce optimum results, in my opinion. If you want to compete seriously, you should do more reading. 7 exercises per muscle group is too much unless you are on juice.

Just out of curiosity, what 7 exercises did you pick for quads, glutes, and hamstrings?

I was wondering when someone was gonna chime in and notice the body part split training.

camaro, you rest pause every set? Meaning, you get to a failure, rest, then do the same weight for however many reps? Or do you reduce the weight and then do however many reps..?

I do squats, hack squats, leg press, leg extension machine, leg curl machine. Today will be the first leg day with my new program i dont know what else im gunna do, maybe some lunges and have that be it.
