One of my friends said that he's been doing olympic lifts like cleans lately and that its helped his benchpress, squat and deadlift go up a whole lot. Can olympic lifts help on some of the other compound exercises?

Certainly. You can improve neurological efficiency by doing reactive/power work.

Is it recommended to mix olympic lifts with regular bodybuilding lifts?

Are you a bodybuilder or a football player?

Curious as to what your goals are...

Oly lifts are very technical, without a competent coach i wouldn't advise anyone to do them on their own.

As well if one is working for size, the classical oly lifts can be sub'ed for variations such as db snatches, and what not.

Just a bodybuilder, I'm looking to put on some mass, my goal is to get at least 8-10 lbs more of mass, but was just curious about olympic lifts, I agree it wouldn't be wise to do those without having someone assist.

olympic lifts, such as clean and snatch, are more specifically designed for explosiveness for sports, namely football. So, if you are just a bodybuilder going for mass, you dont need to incorporate those kinds of lifts into your routine... keep doing the deadlifts n squats tho for sure.
