Are pullovers good for your shoulders? I mean will hurt my shoulders/ rotator cuff doing them?

Are they a good mass building exercise?

Like all excercises they have to be done right to prevent injury. But they're a great for mass and strenght for upper back and shoulders. Should be a staple in most routines IMO

There is nothing magical about the exercise. I think it's decent. Just don't go beyond a comfortable range of motion with it. I don't like to push the limits of shoulder flexion, particularly not with weight.

They hardly work the shoulders and the upper back...

As for your rotator cuff, I'd be careful. Not because of injuries, but because pullovers strengthen just about all the internal rotators and none of the external.

One thing I'll say is that there are TONS of great physiques out there that were built without any pullovers.

If anything, they train upper lats, possible some rear delts and also chest. alot of pro bodybuilders do them on chest day.

I dont do em, used to but not any more.

I tried doing them recently and I couldnt get the motion down right. Fuck it.

I tried them once over a year ago with just an EZ curl bar and my left shoulder made a loud cracking noise. I never did them since.

I do like straight arm cable pulldowns which are similar.
