Are you too big for some outfits?

(CLICK HERE here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: Witchblade

Akira, double d, kelju, funk, you guys are seriously big. I'm not that big yet, but already I'm having problems buying clothes. The waist to shoulder width ratio just doesn't match. A lot of shirts are either too tight around the shoulders or too loose around the waist. Jeans tend to be too loose around the waist and too tight around the upper legs. If someone like me is already having problems buying clothes, you big guys must have major issues.

So what's your story? How do you deal with this?

Posted by: goob

Yeah, i'm having trouble with that bikin........ er, wrong thread....

Since I've started taking androgenerator my pants are way to tight I think my cock has grown 4 inches. great stuff

Posted by: Witchblade

I figured this would result in lots of comedy.

Posted by: maniclion

You just buy the xl or xxl and live with it being a little long, almost every shirt I buy these days is cut for skinny dudes so I have to stretch the sleeves before I put it on, like the RVCA shirt I am wearing now, it's XL and when I lift my armsthe under part of the sleeve cuts into my arm pit, but if I had bought the XXL (which they never make for shirts I like) the bottom of the shirt would hang like a mini skirt. You just have to live with most clothes being marketed for 15" armed guys with no shoulders....

And to think that it started life as a clit........

Stuff's got a kick.....

Posted by: Witchblade

I think it's funny that lots of people criticize muscular guys for wearing too tight shirts, not knowing that they don't really have a choice.

Your Mom was impressed

Posted by: fufu

I just tried on a suit the other day and it was ridiculously tight. Now I have to buy a new damn suit.

I used to like tighter clothes but I am sick of it now, I am starting to just wear XL shirts now and thank god it is the summer so I can wear shorts. My legs are out of proportion compared to the rest of my body and wearing jeans sucks.

I'm not huge by any means, but the only problem I have is finding long sleeved dress shirts that I can get my forearms into. I generally have to wear a size or 2 too big.

Posted by: juggernaut

my wife laughs her ass off when i go into abercrombe and finch. I try a tshirt on (XXL) and come out looking like baby huey from the looney tunes cartoons

I just buy pants that are a good fit in the legs and if the waist is too big (it usually is) then I just go to alterations and have it taken in. It's only $7 to have the waist reduced on a pair of jeans here.

I really like alterations, I never really knew how great it was to have clothes that fit just me perfectly. Most of the shirts I buy look great but the sleeves do this thing where the outer lateral edge of the cuff (I'm talking about short sleeves here) sticks way out instead of the edge of the sleeve going alongside my arm like it should... I can't stand the way that looks. I just go to alterations, they take a bunch of material from the sleeve along the seem and I'm good to go.

I don't know why shirts are like that all the time, the chest will be snug, below that it's perfect, and the sleeves are way too big... and people who see me with my shirt off always tell me I should tone it down on my arms and spend more time on my chest........ it's like they make t-shirts for scrawny guys that have 18" arms all the way up to the shoulder.

Posted by: Witchblade

Hm I should check if there's a professional nearby here that does these alterations. AFAIK they only do that on suits here. Good suggestion.

Testosterone Nation - What Kind of Pants?

a bunch of bb guys here say what jeans fit them ok.

Posted by: Little Wing

a guy called Aries posted this on another forum i can't quote it cuz i'm not a member

My legs are 28-29"..

Nordstrom: 7 for Mankind Jeans.. They are $159-259 a pair... They fit perfectly..

Express has one style that is loose fitting and boot leg at the bottom.. I forget the name.. Those are cheap, like 70 bucks..

as far as T-shirts and stuff... You need slim-fit T-shirts..

For dress shirts I have to get mine re-tailored or else they look like bags at the bottom..

a few guys mentioned 7 jeans

Yep. When I first started gaining size, I bought the tight sleeved shirts. I looked more gay than a BigDyl parade, but I did a lot of girls.

Nowadays, fuck that tight shit. Well, not as tight. I actaully just threw out 4 shirts cuz theyre not long enough. I dont like that when I sit down on say, a stool, my shirt is now resting OVER my waistline.

As far as the sleeves being tight...I like them snug, but not tight. You can tell when someone is showing off rather than a occupational hazard.

I now buy XLs.

Ralph Lauren collar Polo Shirts are the best. They have a shark fin that is cut on the sides, but the fin for the back is longer than other shirts' fins. Its really the rear portion of the shirts that makes them a yay or a nay.

Posted by: BoneCrusher

The looseness in the legs of relaxed-fit jeans work for me if I go one size too big. Shirts suck. I have to buy XXX to get away from that too tight feel in the chest and shoulders, but it fits me like a tent in the waist. After a few runs through the dryer the t-shirts fit a little better. Cheap dress shirts go to a person I got from craigslist that does alterations. Good dress shirts get done at the same time as the suits they go with.

Posted by: Hoglander

Ripped pants happen at the worst time. : ( I've ripped a few at work lately. I hate shopping my wife does it for me but I had to go today to make sure I wouldn't be embarrassed. I have bit of a gut I'm working on but since my pants sit below it and my legs grow fast I'm ripping my old pants. I've always had a big neck so my dress shirts are big and still ok. Big shirts show my upper and hide my gut. No problem there, hehehe.

Posted by: danny81

im not big, but even if i was i wont have a problem since my clohtes are all baggy except wifebeaters

could you order online? i read those n i'm a levi's girl $70 for a pair of jeans seems steep to me let alone $200. but a good couple of pairs that fit well would be worth it n would last years. unless you get a lot bigger

even women if we have any meat on our thighs the waist doesn't fit right. seems like there is a fortune just waiting to be made in the dress clothes for bodybuilders area.

no suits for me. my shoulders are big and I am short.....I have to get them speically fixed because if I buy off the rack, the long ones fit my shoulders but the they are to long and the short ones fit my height, but they are two small in the shoulders and upper back.

I have to buy my jeans with a bigger waist because my legs and ass will rip them when I bend down if I have my actual waist size. I also have to buy baggier jeans and pants to fit comfortably.

T-shirts I am almost exculsively in an XL all the time. Depending on the brand, they may run super long. For example, Nike makes their XL shirts crazy long to fit the tall basketball players. So, I don't by much nike.

Posted by: MeatZatk

Yeah, I just get all my stuff tailored. Jeans, shirts, I figure that I should spend a little more and get them to fit right because if they don't, then I probably wont wear them as much.

Posted by: KelJu

Dude, buying cloths is the hugest pain in the ass. I have a 34-36 inch waist when I am less than 10% body fat. My hips, ass, rip cage, and shoulders are huge so I have to wear baggy skater cloths much of the time, although I did find 6 nice shirts about a year ago that were all the same shirt, only different colors. That style shirt fits my like no other shirt. Most of the cool looking in style cloths don't fit me. I have blown out about 5 pairs of shorts this year at work. I will squat down to bear hug a big rug so I can get it up over my shoulder, but many of the rugs weigh over 150lbs so it is a pretty tough lift to get them off of the ground. I'll usually be ATG then blast the rugs up, but I blow out my shorts coming out of the hole.

I use to be a raver my first year of college, and I found some of the rediculous cloths thta I wore. The crazy thing is they fit me now a 100 times better than they did then.

Lawl, that picture is retarded.

Yep. I'm 5'5" and I buy XL or XXL shirts. If they're cut large enough I can get away with L, but usually not. And with XL or XXL the sleeves are usually for 35" length. I take 33" shirt sleeves. You just live with it... roll up the sleeves.

Im not on the list but wtf, here's my take.

As mentioned buying things that are baggy work best. The biggest my quads got were 29" and I always wore shorts, or cargo pants. Cargo's are baggy and are comfortable. As far as t-shirts, I just buy cotton, usually they are xl.

Posted by: DontStop

I have problems fitting into shirts...but in respects to something else. I have a smaller tummy, but well, huge "breasts"
It sucks because there is nothing I can do about it. I'm actually seriosuly considering reduction.

I Usually buy stretchy clothes though. I can't wear jean jackets or anything, and I'm going to go ahead and assume the same goes for bigger men.

This is where my x shopped, she was 36DD and a size 4.

Charlotte Russe

Posted by: DontStop

It sucks because I only like brand names. Diesel, G-Star, Firetrap, Versace, Juicy blah blah. I sometimes wish I was twiggy because those clothes arent meant for big busts big hips.

Posted by: PreMier

That is name brand here in the US Plus their clothes are HOT

Posted by: DontStop

I've never heard of it. Le sigh
I like G-star though, and diesel, as for MOST OF THE TIME they compliment my "curves"

Posted by: Double D

Well obviously no more abercrombie for me. The shit just doesnt fit! Hasnt since I was 17! American Eagle has some nice fitting polo shirts that I like. Its pretty lookse through the arms until it actually cups around the bottom end of the tricep. Its kinda the non-show off, show off look.

As for shorts its either cargo's or khaki's. Legs are an issue, but more so my ass! Some pants just dont cut it! My upper legs and ass want to rip them out. Sometimes I think I want to buy some MC Hammer jeans and say screw it, but I just go for the shit and rip them out a time or 2.

I was couch shopping and actually sat down on a couch and ripped the entire ass right out of my jeans. The lady that was showing me the couch was much more embarrassed than me.

Lucky Jeans! They are the best fit for jeans and the only ones I wear now.

Posted by: Double D

Hum....Jeans. The last pair of those I bought are in the trash. They didnt last. I think those were the brand I was wearing with the couch lady.

I have been told that lucky jeans are nice on a guy, and that women would notice if a dude was wearing them. Is there any truth to that?

Yes you can tell by the material. It's a much better quality and the fits and cuts look much better than most jeans as well.

I wear them because they were the only jeans I could find that would fit my quads and my waist. Not that I have huge quads but try to find a pair of jeans that fit a girl with quads.......fucking impossible. Every designer thinks that all women are tall and that their quads are the same size as their damn calves. The legs are straight and the width are the same from top to bottom. When I try my size on I can get to them to center quad and thats it. Stupid freaking designers

I think I will order me some lucky jeans.

I wear Wrangler cargo pants to work, otherwise I only wear shorts...it's great to live in paradise...

I used to wear just about nothing but G-Star. I still wear some, but most of it doesn't fit anymore. I like Levi's Orginal jeans too and some stuff from Chasin', though most of it looks kind of cheap.

I'll check out those Lucky Jeans.

Posted by: Plateau_Max

I was deployed to the middle east and when we went downtown (I won't say where, operational security and all), we bought Diesel pants there for about $30 per pair, and they fitted and hemmed them for us right there as we bought them. It was great I had to buy 3 pairs.

So... lucky jeans I'll have to look for those. I don't think I've seen them at the local retailers. Unless they're in A&F or Hollister, I don't shop there, I won't even go in those places.

Posted by: KelJu

Lucky Jeans cost upwards to of $90.00. Ouch.

Posted by: Fetusaurus Rex

I bet I could fit in them

Ill take pics

I feel your pain. I'm wearing a size 6 now but have a larger chest and altogether larger upper body. Buying a non-stretchy dress is out of the question unless I want to get it fitted. Button up shirts aren't doable unless I wear a tanktop under them and keep them unbottoned. I buy stretchy shirts from Charlotte Russe usually.

I like big tits too.
