I was just wondering what everyones/anyones thoughts are on eating in the middle of the nite, would it make a difference?? Seems to me it would help keep the matabalism up.. any thoughts????

Posted by: IainDaniel

I would sleep.

Posted by: jokbc52

yeah, but drinking a gallon plus of water a day i have a feeling im not the only one who finds them selves up at somepoint during the nite.

Posted by: IainDaniel

Then Taper off your water towards the night.

ROM sleep is very important.

Posted by: jokbc52

this is true...I guess i knew the answer i would get before i asked just lookin to see if there were any other opinions about this

Just try to eat some slow digesting proteins and fats before you go to sleep such as casein protein and red meat. Casein is found best in things like cottage cheese and casein powder, though personally I prefer something solid as my last meal of the day, so I usually do about 1/4lb steak and natty pb or pecans/walnuts.

Sounds good!!!

I usually have a few scoops of peanut butter. This seems to help me through the night. My biggest problem is urination. I work out in the evening and consume about a gallon of water while lifting. Maybe it's my age, but I get up 2 to 3 times a night to pee.

Posted by: jokbc52

ok and if u are up anyways why not have a few scoops of penutbutter or some cottage cheese then to...this is kind of what i am getting at..

Posted by: highpockets

Yes! Definitely. I don't see a problem with it.

Can if you want.

If I get up to pee. I keep my eyes closed and feel my way to the washroom. And get back to the comfort of my bed ASAP.

Ah Cozy bed.

Ok so to add to this very hypothetical thread, and to change pass, thoughts on wild game in ones diet (Doves, ducks, geese, deer, and ext.). I know venison is rather lean. Does anyone use these types of meat with any regularity?

Posted by: IainDaniel

Never heard of eating Doves.

But wild game if you got it. Giddy up and eat it.

Fat isn't the Devil, and the Fat profile in most wild meats are very good. ie EFA's

I work with a guy that's always bringing me wild game. Last week he gave me 6 rather large goose breasts from the Canadians he shot in a corn field. I prefer to marinate these in some soy sauce overnight, then I grill them. Very tasty!!!

ok well thats good to hear so im out the door to go get me some fresh "food" for tonite then

You're one of the guys that pees by sonar, aren't you.

I eat something quck and small if I wake up and have to get up to pee or something but I don't go out of my way to wake up. Unfortunetly I work 3rd shift so getting 8 straight hours of sleep in the middle of the day is next to impossible.

People eat doves where I live all the time. I don't like them much. Although small quail is a tasty bird to eat...

Posted by: jokbc52

Quail is way better than dove is mainly because they don't fly anywhere near as much they would much rather walk to where they have to go than fly... Hence why there brests are white meat not dark.

I love eating venison and squirrel...I know venison is pretty lean, but I wonder what kind of nutrition profile squirrel has....

Posted by: bigsahm21
