What would be the best to do/ What would you do personally

Buy a lean joint of beef, cook it and cut it into portions, or buy beef steaks?

Sounds like protein to me. Either or. Eat it up.

holy shit ?!

Just do whatever the fuck you want with it..

Take into account the Taste/ Convenience / Cost. Then make your decision based on these.

Personally I get Steaks, because I can cook 1 or 2 and then im not overloaded with beef for a few days. If I cook up a roast or something then there is a lot of meat and I get sick of it after a while. I like variety.

Also my best mate is a butcher and he gets me the goods at bargain price.

Good question my local butchers sells 'topside' and 'silverside'

Both are excellent lean cuts. Just don't be a typical brit and butcher these cuts by over cooking them

Eat them up.

I buy my beef in brisket form.. and then trim all the fat. then i cube it and cook it with spices and a little water in a pan. i go through 8lbs+ beef a week and this is the cheapest way i have found it.. it is kinda tough/chewy though

I think Brisket is the same as 'stewing steak' and need to be cooked for a long period of time either on the hob or in the oven covered with some sort of liquid.

Yes brisket needs to be slow cooked to break down all the connective tissue.

eh.. its still protein right?

Posted by: IainDaniel

yep.

Just to get rid of the chewy texture that it needs to be slow cooked.

well, i eat to grow.. not for pleasure haha

I eat for pleasure. I love good food.

Yeah but I think it takes the body longer to break it down or something because its not been cooked for long enough.
