But for you hockey fans it is back.

Interesting start to the pre-season/ season. Seems like when the NHL is trying to clean things up, the "old time hockey like Eddie Shore" creeps back in.

Thoughts on the recent head shots?

Anyone even watching?

All I know is that a couple of Flyers got suspended a bunch of games for stabbing other players in the neck with their sticks.

That, and the Maple Leafs are gay.

Im a huge flyers fan. I didn't mind the hit on Mcammond, but when jessie boulerice cross checken kessler in the face, that was brutal. IMO, Downine got suspened to many games for that hit. If Dean would have got up after the hit, I think that the sentencing would have been alot lighter than it was.

How could you even come close to accepting Downie's hit?

It was disgusting and broke almost any rule you can think of.

Downie is a douche bag. And has been for years, including his days in the OHL

The Bruins started off the season 3-2 on their five game west coast swing. I can't say I expected them to come home with a winning record.

Steve downie got 20 games for that hit. Chris simon only recieved 25 games for his brutal baseball swing hit on ryan hollweg. Simon should have faced criminal charges, I never said that downie's hit was OK, but why is it that downie only gets penalized severly for his hits? Look at Colby Armstrong of the pittsburgh faggots, for all of his dirty hits, never recieved any punishment that was worth while. Downie is a targeted player because of his past. This is why the nhl is going to shit because they have their favorites. Does anyone remember peter forsberg...? Look at how targeted of a player he was, and not just by other players, but the officials as well. When derian hatcher broke jeremey roenicks jaw with a hit that he left his feet, he didn't recieve anything like this. And if you say that Downie was trying to hurt Mcammond, your an idiot.

Good he should have got 20 games. Those types of hits have no place in hockey. He wasn't going to make the team anyway.

Simon should have been booted for longer agreed.

Downie received 20 games cause they have hopefully made it an issue this off-season to eliminate these disgusting hits.

Again the NHL has made a point to eliminate head shots and rightfully so. But you are correct the NHL disciplinary board is a joke. The are spineless pricks who will protect there stars from suspensions and lay down the law on nobodies.
