As a sox fan, i could care less. The NL is inferior to the AL. The Redsox were clearly the best team in the league from April til October. The next couple years are going to be dominant if the young guys stay healthy. Imagine if we get A-Rod? (I don't want him but if we do get him .. oh boy).

Eat it Yankees

Posted by: bigss75

Rockies had no offense. Hope the Montforts put more money into the team and pick up a high profile pitcher. Good run for the team of homegrown boys with a 1/3 payroll of the big dogs

Posted by: soxmuscle

eff a-rod. no thanks.

if you're going to splurge, splurge on lowell even if he isn't a better player. i think he'd accept something for 2-3 years with mutual options or something of the sort.

I wish your dreams would come true, if you get A-rod you will win nothing.

You won the series yet your world still revolves around the Yankees?
Who cares man, you guys won.

I agree with you, A-Rod may have the career numbers but it isn't about that.

I bring up Brosas again, but who has the better October numbers.
Scott does, but you can't say he's a hall of famer which A-Rod is definitly.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Red sox have the chemistry now but bring in A-Rod and have him play along side Gagne and Drew and well.....

The American league is just too strong.

Can't take away anything from them, they had a year to remember.

Good to see a Yankee fan show some class.

They had a great year indeed.

Enjoy while you can.

Are those your pictures?

No, although I wouldn't have minded being in a position to take them. They were sent to me by a coworker and I thought the Sox fans might enjoy them.

Oh, if it was me I probably would have commandeered that plane and landed on a deserted Island along with Gilligan.

Thank ya thank ya. Nobody understands the emotions and feelings that Boston fans go through EXCEPT a Yankee fan

Boston has got to be loving this.

Pats Dominant.

Red Sox Champions.

Boston College, right up there for the BCS.

Celtics are looking Promising.

Bruins have been playing well.

They must be cin heaven now.
I want to see this Celtic team against the west, they will dominate the east for sure.

New York had a similar thing year in 1969.
The Knicks won, the Mets won and the Jets won that year.

All they care about are the Sox.

Not true.

Baseball is my favorite sport, but that doesn't mean I don't follow basketball (Celtics, IU, BC), football (Patriots, IU, BC), or hockey (Bruins, BC) as much as anyone.

So wrong there......so wrong.

Pat's and Sox are what I follow but you'd be surprised as to how many and most Bostonians actually follow every game of every sport. It's a way of life out there. There is no sports scene like Boston.

Ditto. I live and breathe sports each and every day of my life.

How many fans did you have in Jacksonville for the Philadelphia/New England Super Bowl? I think it was 1 NE fan to 3 Philly fans. And they were all wearing red sox caps.

I believe that. I just notice you have more hardcore baseball fans then any other sport.

Posted by: min0 lee

In Doublebases defense that is what you hear.
Boston loves baseball more than the other sports, but they still love their teams.

That's because the Patriots fan base is mostly in New England. The Redsox have fans all over the world. When the sox won it all in 2004, people started jumping on the bandwagon and root for the team who is good. It used to be the Yankees but now it's the redsox.

I went out to California for vacation last spring and saw a lot of people wearing redsox hats. So, i asked them some questions about the team and their history (just a simple fan test) and they didn't know jack shit. The only thing they knew about the team are some of the current stars and the fact that they won a championship. It was funny because most of them didn't know who Bill Buckner was.

I love reading Bill Simmons articles from ESPN but he wrote a very good article on being a "true fan". I suggest you should read it.

ESPN.com: Page 2 : Rules for being a true fan

After reading that, you'll understand why so many people jump on the bandwagon

In order of importance to me:

1) Celtics
2) Patriots
3) Red Sox

But I'm an absolute die hard fan of all three, grew up watching all three and watch each and every game of all three. I was never really a hockey fan. I'm goin to opening night for the Celtics Friday, I'm so pumped I hope the Sox make an appearence

BTW thanks for the cool pics TT.

Hey, thanks man. It's still hard to believe...two WS titles in four years after so many years of futility. I think all the prior abuse makes these so much sweeter.

Got to Bob's last night:

I received them in an email from a coworker. She had received them from someone else. That's where the email trail went cold.

Check Boston Dirt Dogs.

Edit: Not quite the same...

I didn't notice any pictures of Gagne on that plane? Did they make him take a commercial flight?

Posted by: I Are Baboon

The Sox rotation has some questions for 08. Assuming Curt Schilling and Tim Wakefield are gone, that leaves some holes to fill. I don't think we can assume Clay Buchholz will be ready quite yet.

Beckett
Dice-K
Lester

Hey....you went to Bob's Stores! They have a ton of NE sports paraphernalia. I go there whenever I'm back in New England. I love that store.

My Gram bought me shirts and hats yesterday and she's going to ship them out.

Listen," designated hitter David Ortiz began, "we're not just a good team. We're a great team. And don't you f------ forget that. And let's go play one at a time and go prove that. Because let me tell you something...."

Ortiz pulled on the sides of his gray road jersey. "There's a reason why you wear this Red Sox uniform...."

Ortiz paused for a beat, letting the suspenseful silence fill the rapt room.

Bob's is great for Sox stuff. The items they sell are the same exact thing that sells at the Fenway shops but a lot cheaper. I bought a Sox tie last year at Bob's for $7 and it was $45 at a shop ooutside Fenway. The SAME EXACT TIE.

Obviously Bob's does not have the same rediculous selection though. Plus after you've had four beers at the Beerworks, the credit card gets a lot looser.

Mmmmmmm Beerworks
