CUTLER, ILLUSTRATED
Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler is compared to Denver Broncos' quarterback Jay Cutler in Sports Illustrated

Ever wonder how the two most popular Jay Cutler's stack up against each other? Apparently, you're not alone. In the current issue of Sports Illustrated -- featuring Boston Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon on the cover -- the magazine compares two-time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler to the NFL's Jay Cutler, a quarterback in his second year with the Denver Broncos.

Among the similarities between Bronco Jay and Olympia Jay -- they both worked at concrete companies (Bronco Jay at his dad's, Cutler & Son Concrete, Olympia Jay at his brothers', Cutler Bros. Concrete) -- at an early age.

The issue marks the second time the Jay Cutlers have been compared within the past week. On the NFL Today pre-game show on CBS this past Sunday, studio analyst Shannon Sharpe also compared the two Cutlers when host James Brown asked Sharpe, "How many titles will Jay Cutler win Shannon?".

Sharpe responded: "Well, there's a Jay Cutler in Denver and he's thrown as many interceptions as he has touchdowns ... but there's this guy Jay Cutler, the reigning Mr. O, the two-time Mr. O ... I see Jay Cutler getting four, four titles."

Only a blind man could mistake the two for being the same person.

the sad thing is Jay Cutler (NFL player) will make more money in his first 5 years of football than Jay Cutler (bodybuilder) will make in his entire life.

why is that a sad thing? One NFL game makes more money in ticket sales and mechandis than the entire BBing season combined. If the Broncos are putting that many people in the stands, don't you feel that the athletes should be compensated more for that? They are the ones out there playing the game and creating the fan interest. If BBing had more of a fan base and sold out larger venues, I am sure the bb'ers would be paid more money.

good point...I don't spend much to support any sport team so I am happy to not contribute to the players insane salaries. There are are a lot of pro players with ciminal records that couldn't get a job at Mcdonalds, but make millions a year to have fun doing what they enjoy. I see that as fucked up....I am not sure what is more fucked up....felons in the real world not being able to get a good job forcing them to continue doing crime, or that felons can still play in pro sports and make it big time....hmmm.

it's sad for all pro bodybuilders that bust their asses day in and day out for 20 years and don't make shit, that was my only point.

Bodybuilding is a niche sport though, and not something many people take interest in. At least not as many as NFL football.

Cutlers first contract was worth over 30 million for five years if I'm not mistaken. I don't see Mr. O making that in a lifetime. So I have to side with you on this once Prince.

you're correct bodybuilding never was and never will be a mainstream sport, HOWEVER, there are many getting very rich at the expense of pro bodybuilders, i.e. magazines and supplement companies, so don't be fooled into thinking that the money is not there because it is!

Oh I wouldn't say for a second that the money isn't there. Case and point look at the new Muscletech bottles. Pretty jazzed up packaging and marketing they have going. Hell Muscle Mag is a virtual pamphlet for Muscletech products.

I'll met Joe Weider himself is nowhere near the top of the financial mountain when it comes to money made from BB. The supplement powerhouses ran him over a long time ago in my "offbase" speculation.

Lets try this without the typos

My point being that time invested and work put in, doesn't really decide whether or not you make money in this sport. Its the sparkly ads and marketing.
