Hey all, as the title says I have lost a bit of weight. I had Glandular fever and terrible acute tonsillitis, basically hurt so much even to sip on water. That and the medications I was on diminished my appetite to hell.
I could mainly only eat fruit, but as I improved i ended up eating an egg or something..And for the people who would have suggested doing B/w exercises, I could barely walk up/down the stairs to my room. I could just lie in bed
Before this I was cutting. Down from 222Lbs (101Kg) to 94Kg in about 2 months, so it was pretty steady and i didnt notice muscle loss..
But now I feel like I have lost a lot of muscle, and bugger all fat. I know that everyone gets ill and shit happens, but it is almost heartbreaking to see my gains go out the window like that.
The doctor reccommended that I wait at least another 4 weeks till i can do strenuous activity, Ie weighlifting.
So now my questions:
1. Because I have been on such few calories, should i gradually bump it up, or does my body need a re-feed type phase. I dont wanna go too high and then put on more fat, as i cant really do cardio or anything for a while
2. should I try to cut further, knowing that i have lost loads of LBM
3. should I jack up the calories and try to get some LBM back. (muscle memory?)
thats all.. I should be feeling 100% by next week i think.
Thanks

That sucks to hear. At least your getting better. Try eating clean and starting with what you were eating before this happened and see how that works.

Im eating Cleaner than I was prior to my illness, and I feel that I am losing more BF. I started taking creatine again, so that has given my strength a bit of a boost, so I am almost where I was before I got sick. Also I cant drink alcohol at all for a minimum of a month, or I risk doing long term damage to it. The virus I had wreaked havoc on it. I would normally drink a bit on the weekends and such, so that obviously helps with cutting.
I have noticed more definition, which I can only assume is due to lowering the BF. I can say that being rooted sick makes you appreciate your health a lot more, and I believe that it has given me greater desire to eat clean and train harder.
Goal is to Get to around 13-15%BF and then bulk up slowly, but cleanly.
