Just wondering if you can recommend something to relieve my unbearable heartburn! You can only eat so many TUMS in a day....they only provide relief for maybe 30 minutes then I find myself eating more. So, before I go asking my OB for a prescription for something stronger...thought I'd check with you on if you knew of any *natural* remedies/supplements that would provide some relief?

Thanks

Forgot to add....I'm definitely not eating anything (at least to my knowledge)...that would aggravate this. In fact, all I can stomach right now is cereal and popsicles and drinking water and occasionally Gatorade. Dixie is just so HUGE that she's pushed all my organs upward I think!

SG, stop eating TUMS, they have aluminum in them!

Look for a product called "Absorb Aid" (may be one word), comes in capsules or powder...get the capsules...butt if you have an attack, open 2 caps in 4 oz of water.....this stuff is incredible...especailly for GERD (gastro-esophogial-reflux)

Now, I'M NOT SAYING TAKE THIS, butt also look into "Blue Cohosh". OK? (for little Dixie and you, not for heartburn)

Anything wrong with plain Bi Carb????

I find that a tonic of bull semen and gnute testicle is best to take the heartburn away. Of course if it doesn't work I am sure DP's method is probably a suitable replacement.

Just to butt in and say that most antacids will actually induce more heartburn. Heartburn is caused by a lot of things: overeating, hungar pangs, stress, pregnancy...

If I don't eat every three hours, my stomach starts sending messages to me that I'm due for a feeding; I get heartburn and start burping. It might be unusual, but I like to think of it as an internal alarm clock.
