why do i feel these in my hamstrings and not in my lower back? also i cant go to parralel i can barely go down at all

Posted by: Metallibanger

If you have trouble with this exercise, avoid it. Substitute hyperextensions, these are easy and safer

good mornings are a glute/ham dominant exercise so that is where you should be feeling them more so than your lower back. if you're having trouble going all the way down bend your knees a tad bit, and stretch more - sounds like you might need to.

Posted by: danny81

lo yah definetly need to stretch more i cant touch my toes lol.

Posted by: Witchblade

You're probably very inflexible then. Stretch it.

Posted by: fUnc17

If you can't touch your toes you have no business doing good mornings

Posted by: danny81

really? i can touch my sihns lol.

Posted by: Witchblade

You are EXTREMELY inflexible then.

Posted by: Metallibanger

Check out your form. You have to bend over at a 90º angle while keeping your back slightly arched. Don't keep your legs 100% straight.

Posted by: danny81

oo alright back is slightly arched and knees slightly bent. thnks. and yah i am extremy inflexible. i never really stretced unless i was really sore

Posted by: IainDaniel

You aren't flexible and you want to wrestle.... let alone fight MMA?

Posted by: danny81

flexibility has nothing to do with it. only thing i suck at is kicking. i can only do leg kicks lol

Posted by: Witchblade

Flexbility has everything to do with it. Muscles have an optimum level of flexiblity at which they perform best, any deviation will hinder performance. Your muscles won't be able to contract optimally and you will be less explosive, less mobile, and less strong. Also, you'll be more likely to get injured and you won't recover as fast.

Try stiff-leg deadlifts on a block
