The White Sox acquired a personal favorite of mine, Nick Swisher for Gio Gonzalez, Ryan Sweeney, and Fautino De Los Santos.
I've been reading about Gonzalez for three years now and while he's got a hell of an arm, I wonder if he'll finally be able to put it together and make the Majors in Oakland. Sweeney is a solid outfield prospect, but has been overhyped for a couple years as well. De Los Santos is three years away from being Major League ready but he dominated in High-A last year and could end up being the best player in the deal five years from now.
If the White Sox were closer to the there Red counterpart, I'd be all for it, instead this move will help them compete for "not finishing last behind the Royals" in '08.
