Hi
I am a 20 year old 5ft10.5 male. For ever i have been skinny. I thought this was 100% genetics but now think otherwise as i will explain. In June i weighed 127 pounds. I started eating 2000-2500 calories a day and went up to 137 pounds. Then i had to start eating 3000 calories to gain weight and currently i am 145 pounds. However these gains have been just normal food so high in fat. I want to get into bodybuilding. I want to carry on getting bigger but muscle gains from now on because im still small only weighing 145 lbs (and obv want to look better) . I would like to know what to eat i can pretty much eat any type of food.
Also
1. this is not the training bit of the forums but would appreciate advice about workouts bearing in mind ive never been to the gym yet.
2. am i a hardgainer? if i need 3000 calories a day to gain weight and my BMI (29.5) is still less than ideal and a lot less than average?

what does your diet look like? Go through what a day's eating pattern looks like.

I am in transition stage of changing diet at the moment. So far it is this.
1
50g wholemeat oats porridge
300ml skimmed milk
banana
50g peanut butter
2
wholemeal sandwich
walkers crisps
3
same as 2
4
200g chicken breast
150g pasta
as much veg as will fit on plate
ceasar salard dressing
5
wholemeal seeded bread with peanut butter
nuts
i have ordered whey and just bought a blender so hopefully more protein and balance will come.

Dang Hazaar, at 5'10" and 129 lb's, you were almost not visible! I am your height and was 142 lb's. 6 month's ago. I am now 170 lb's. where I am holding the gain while I reduce the fat before continuing (lose fat/gain muscle). You must have a very small boned frame. At one time I went from 145 to 193 lb's. after three year's of steady bodybuilding.
I suggest that you get to the gym, have them set you up with a basic program with weight's and eat like a pig. After six months, maby start thinking about trimming down what you have gained to get some nice definition. Make friend's with someone who has your size frame and look's pretty good to you. They will know more about where you ar coming from and the obsticles you face.
It will take time my man... time and dilligence.
