BAKED ZITI

You will need a casserole baking dish, approx. 9” x 13”. Slightly grease the bottom & sides. I use olive oil
for greasing pans.

l Turkey Links Italian Sweet Sausage (buy from healthfood store)
l Whole Wheat Pasta ‘Penne’ (use 3/4 of the box) - I use the brand ‘Ronzini Healthy Request’.
l ‘Bertolli Tomato & Basil’ (26 oz.) Found on the Ragu aisle. This is an excellent tasting sauce!
l 1 can (8 oz.) Tomato Sauce ‘No Salt’
l Parmesan Cheese or Skim Milk Mozzarella slices

1.) Pre-cook the sausage to well done. Before cooking the sausage remove the skin & fry it up like ham-
burger, chop it up as it cooks. To remove the skin without any mess, I will wear a surgical glove.

Set oven @ 350°

2.) While turkey is cooking; boil up the pasta, drain & rinse with cool water.

3.) After cooking the turkey & pasta. Add the turkey to the pot of pasta, add the whole jar of ‘Bertolloi’
sauce, & add the can of tomato sauce. Mix well & add mixture to the casserole baking dish.

4.) Sprinkle top with parmesan cheese or add a few slices of the mozzarella.

Bake for 30-45 minutes, until top is slightly crispy.
