300 push ups every other night does this = overtraining?
I also do do 300 sit ups
200 hand grips on each hand and hold for ab 2 mins,
some raises,
some isometrics.
6 inches for 3 mins and plank for 3 mins.

I leave for basic in 2 weeks and I'm tryin to get in better shape.
I also run like a mofo.

It might not be great for bodybuilding but you will be turning heads in basic for sure. It takes a lot of will to hit 300. Tear it up and work on your, "yes sir" after each set, "YES SIR!!!!!!!!" Right after you say it.. think, "yes sir, BITCH!!"(in your head). Look him in the eye for a fraction of a second while that thought flashes in you head, then make a dull look straight ahead with head up.

You will do fine.

ahaha thanks I'ma do that.eye contact while thinking Bitch! dull face, look ahead and do more. He's gona think I'm a freak.

If you freak them you'll have to not meet eyes. They will let you know. Save your most powerful YES SIR for that moment while looking straight ahead.

P.S. Practice "no SIR!!" after that, LOL.

You'll do fine.

I cant wait, also I've heard not to do my best at the initial strength test because then they expect more of you everytime. I'd love to make improvements everytime but right now I'm bordering a push up every second for the 2 mins and more then a sit up per second.

Not trolling btw, just tryin to give an idea of where I am so I can get adivce most relevant to where I am. Like if I'm already doing so many of each per minute are they really gonna bitch me out n fail me if I dont manage to do more?

let alone to really perform them correctly...

cause they are navy sit ups, they still burn you're stomach but you can do them very quickly if you get good form on em. the closer your ass is to your feet and the more momentum you can get goin the faster you do em. You cross your arms over your chest and go up until your elbows hit your legs. I just go as fast as I can without breaks until they call time and last time I got 125 in 2 mins.

Not that I'm in any position to knock what the Navy does, but that just seems silly in my opinion.

Is there a particular reason that you picked 300? Why so many?

Do you have some sort of progression set up? I think proper progression is going to really make the difference.

Posted by: andythegreat

well I picked 300 of each just because, at home I do them with propper form, so I'll do really good at the navy ones.300 doesn't get me sore, but any more then that and I think I would be overtraining.
progression set up? I used to use a 25 lb weight on my back to do 120 of em.
yea sox it is a little silly, its cause the average recruit coming through today is outa shape, and ppl bitch about bootcamp so much that they had to ease up alot.
Anyway, anyone got an oppinion as to wether I should do my best on my initial strength test, or just do pretty good and not have to spaz to meet higher numbers.

When I say progression I mean increase the volume, increase the load, or increase the density. I think the best method of progression would either be a combination, or if you know what testing/demands would be like, then tailor it to that.

I think I'ma go back to the weighted ones.
do 100 unweighted, and 100 weighted.I think thats the best way to get it.

If i can get almost one a second, are they gona expect more of me at every test????

I know you will surpass what the average person can do. You just need to show them you will never give up mentally. Everyone's body will fail at some point. Pretending you can't do more is deception. Do not try to fool anyone. Show them what you have and show them you are not limited by mind. Save the deception for moments that you WILL know are right not that you think are right.

Dude, relax. You will kick ass.
