The Opinion Road to the Superbowl

Lay down your thoughts and opinion as the media and the teams are talking trash already!

So one of my co-workers took a bet that the Patriots will not win with a 14 point spread. I think it's going to be my a touchdown or less!

Posted by: Doublebase

Wow is that the spread?

Posted by: Dale Mabry

I think it's 13.5.

Posted by: oaktownboy

I could care less what some asshole in Vegas puts as a spread. As long as the Patriots lose, I am happy. I'm not a Giants fan; that's for sure. But I am tired of ESPN riding the Patriots' dick 24/7. You know the NFL doesn't want NE to lose.

Posted by: david

I think they want to see history matched and compared to the Dolphins undefeated season/superbowl.

More things to gloat upon.

I think they'll win but again, not by that margin.

I wonder what Brady's facial expression will be if the Giants have the lead and there is only 4 mins left in the game and Giant's have possession.

The Patriots are going to destroy the Giants. Half of the roster for the Patriots have been in the superbowl before and Belichick is a mastermind. He has two weeks to prepare and he already knows how the Giants play from when they played each other in week 17.

Eli will choke once they are down by more than 10 points early in the game and Coughlin will make stupid mistakes as a coach once he panics.

Patriots 38-16

I think the Giants will put up a more interesting game than either San Diego or Jaxsonville did, I wouldn't count them out yet.

When was the last time the Patriots beat the spread? It didn't happen yesterday, it didn't happen against the Jags, it didn't happen against the Giants in week 17, it didn't happen week 16 against the Dolphins... The Jets in week 15?

Brady wearing walking cast while on visit to New York

Everyone's favorite quarterback, Tom Brady, with his beautiful eyes and dimpled chin, getting ready for Super B-- OH MY GOD IS HIS FOOT OK?? OH THE HUGEMANATI!
It wasn't me, I swear!

Posted by: soxmuscle

Ha, he's fine.

Posted by: shiznit2169

It's all part of Belichick's plan

Posted by: david

More added drama....

Along with Moss being accused by that woman.

If only he had a personalty he would be loved by all, he is one hell of a coach.
Loved him when he coached the Giants/Jets defensive teams....he made them better.

Again, he has all that talent but without the uniform he's a piece of shit of a human.

To boot. Not to boot.
In a late-breaking development on the all-important subject of Tom Brady’s foot, it appears that perhaps things aren’t as concerning as they once might have been for Pats fans.
Page Six.com has photos on its site of the Patriots quarterback hitting the club scene last night – sans cast on his ankle.

Glad he's out partying in clubs. Don't that have rules against that, mind you, for the next two weeks???

I hear the Giants merchandise is booming off the walls (at least in SFLA)... more than the Patriots.

They say it's because the Giant's aren't in this position this much...
They say that this could be the big upset over the Patriots.....
They say that the Giant's defense is going to prevail over the offense and Moss will not be much of a factor....
They say that the Giant's have more of the passion, more driven and more heart, therefore, upset the odds and become victorious!

Interesting....

haha, i'm a genius

They may have more passion but they don't have the experience the Pats have, the Pats are just too good of a team to lose. They have yet to lose a game.
Moss is Moss, Brady will find a way to get him the ball.

What really amazes me the most is that they did this without Tiki Barber and for the last few games Shockey.

Actually, it's called the bandwagon effect, and it's happening here as well.

Everybody and their mother will be rooting for the Giants. The wagon has grown here as well.

He looks like a stud. How much do you think that outfit is worth? (to pass time of course)

Now that the Packers are done. I guess I will cheer for the Pats. As long as that fuck nut Eli doesn't win a superbowl.

I really don't mind Eli anymore, but what he did to the Chargers back in the draft was ridiculous. I guess it worked out for both teams, but still, what a selfish move.

Posted by: IainDaniel

That is why I won't cheer for him.... And Why I think Eric Lindros is a dipshit as well.

Posted by: soxmuscle

I respect that, I just happen to think a lot of it had to do with his father.

I mean, it's not like Indianapolis is this amazing market, I think if Eli came before Peyton, Peyton would have done the same thing..

Some people like rooting for the underdogs, the Patriots are a Dynasty and a lot of people get tired of that.

I should know, I am a Yankee fan.

They say his father was a real good quarterback who played for lousy teams, why were they lousy....the owners didn't care to put a winning product on the field.

At least with the Giants he knows they will do there best to be competative.

His father really suffered over there, if that was my son I would rather see him go to a team that has a chance to win.

LT and Eli could have been marketed for billions. I understand your point, but it's not like San Diego was this perennial dumpster feeder. I mean, the Giants were awful the year before with a core group of veterans (Strahan, Barber, Toomer, etc) and virtually no future studs.

Lets be honest here, it was all about money, Eli is more marketable in New York than he ever would have been in San Diego.

There's nothing wrong with that, that's todays pro.

Fine and dandy for you to say. Living in New York.

You make a good point, the fan suffers.

What's really sad is that I can't afford to buy tickets.

Posted by: david

Wow, I can't believe my moronic co-workers. OK, one is reasonable and she is a female. But the guy is JUST FUCKING ridiculous!

All I want to see is a fair and competitive game and the winner earns their spot in history!

Trash talk is funny but can be such a headache!

Sadly enough, I can't wait for it to be over!

Ever wonder what old friend Grey Ruegamer is up to? When not protecting Giants quarterback Eli Manning or celebrating a touchdown with Amani Toomer (right), Ruegamer -- an Arizona State University product who was part of the Patriots' Super Bowl victory during the 2001 season -- is catching up with the papers back in the Grand Canyon State about his previous work duties.

From the East Valley Tribune:

Castrating a lamb with your teeth is a pretty simple procedure, really. Grey Ruegamer knows. “You grab the forelegs and pin them to the ground, and then you grab the back legs and throw them on their back,” Ruegamer said.
And when the, uh, target area is exposed, “away you go. It’s the way the Basques do it.”

Ruegamer, a former Arizona State All-American who will return for Super Bowl XLII with the New York Giants, became a practitioner when a family friend, who is Basque, asked for extra help on her working sheep and cattle ranch outside Las Vegas, Nev., where Ruegamer grew up.

Later in the article, summonsing his inner Belichick for at least part of a quote, Ruegamer adds:

“I was hesitant,” Ruegamer said with a laugh. “But it is what it is. She needed help. There was beer. Good times. It was worth it.”
As for the procedure itself, “you pull them out with your teeth, spit them in a bucket, next one.

“There was other work that had to get done, so we had to hurry with that and move onto the next thing. It’s just a little lamb. It’s not a big animal. I have pictures.

“The blood on your mustache is the worst part.”

If you weren't thoroughly grossed out yet, here's more from the article:

“Grey is not somebody you want to mess with,” Giants center and captain Shaun O’Hara said.
“He keeps all of his toenail clippings and callous shavings all season long in a cup, and if anybody wrongs him and he deems it necessary, he will dump that cup in a personal belonging of theirs. He’s known for that.”
