Alright, I am working on writting up my workout plan. I will get that posted asap for some advice from you guys/gals. I have been continuosly at the gym for the past 2 weeks 5 times a day working out. I try to eat a bit better and a bit more. I have protein shakes before when i wake up and before bed(or after workout), because I know I don't intake enough protein on my own. However, my main question is how long it usually takes to see some results. I realize its not going to be right away, but i do hope to see some result eventually.

Thanks

my question is why are you in working out 5 times a day that just sounds counter productive to me

Well, since no one seems to have given you an actual serious response, let me first say that I would not recemoend working out 5 times a week (to start).

You seem new given your question, and I can tell you right now that your on a quick road to dissapointment and eventually giving up by going nuts 5 days a week right out of the gate. You will NOT see amazing results right away.

Within 2-4 weeks, you will see visible results and it only gets better the more you keep training. I started back up jan.1st, and my arms are unbeilvably more defined and ive lost 5 lbs, and gained muscle. everyone keeps telling me how great im looking, and asking me if im working out.

Go slow and steady man... Im going 3-4 times a week and seeing great results (5 if im feeling great, just for cardio) and dont cheat yourself. Push yourself hard with weights and cardio, but remember, its a marathon, not a race. Think of it as a life long change and not a quick fix. 5 times a week to start sounds like a quick fix to me...

I was 100% serious.

Everyone says read the stickies... whats the point of even posting? At least give a personal observation/advice on the subject, even if it is very brief.

It is intimidating to sift through pages upon pages of information, especially for a beginner. The least you can do is try and answer his question, then mention that the stickies hold a wealth of information. You could probly go to 75% of these posts, not even look at the question, and copy and paste "read the stickies" for each one. And you know what? youd probly be right, but that doesnt change the fact that the question remains unanswered.

Is it so hard to explain in a few sentences when a beginner lifter will begin to see results? I think not...

hahahahaha. Let me correct that to 5 times a week.

And thank you arnoldsprotege. I appreciate that you took the time to write that. In addition, I couldnt agree more on how everyone says "read the stickies". Is 5 times too much even if you are enjoying it? I mean I am paying for my gym membership either way.

5 times a week is fine.... It all depends on what you are doing during those 5 days.

I would suspect you should be seeing results already. Diet might be your major obstacle, since you don't seem to be paying a major concern to it.

5 is ok, but dont over do it is all im saying. When i first got my membership, i went alll out, 5-6 times a week, training really hard every day, hoping to get ripped in a month lol. needless to say, i was burnt out in 6 weeks and i gave up. Im not saying you will do the same, but pace yourself, and if you are feeling tired, physcially and mentally, take a day off.

And dont measure your success by the scale... weigh yourself once in awhile, but as long as you are weight training and eating smart, measure success by your appearance. Take pictures. you may not lose weight steadilly, but you will continue to lose visceral body fat nd gain muscle.

and if you havent already, like daniel said, diet is absolutey vital. try posting your diet up here.. theres a chance a few small things are severly hindering your progress without u even knowing.
