Tom Platz is up there with Arnold as far as bodybuilding in my book, he's a cool guy too, when I did my ISSA certification he was the instructor for two days. It's bodybuilders like this that we are missing today and it's hurting the sport badly.

Have you ever seen the pic where the striations in his quads are visible?

Sadly his legs overpowered his upper body.

To me he has the best legs ever.

yes, he had cross-striations on his Vastus Medialis and Vastus Lateralis, still rare even today to see that on a pro, not to mention his hamstrings and calves were just sick!

yes, but his charisma made up for it.

23 reps of 500 pounds!?

I've always felt that I got the best leg development when I was doing heavy high rep squats, specifically when I was doing HIT. I got to start doing those again...

225 for 23 reps, here I come.

yeah, he did a lot of high rep leg training, he liked to do high rep leg extensions too, so when someone tells you that heavy squats are the only way to build huge legs you just say Tom Platz!

Tom Platz, the golden eagle. Man he was my idol way back when he came on the scene. He was my vision of what a Bodybuilder should look like. I saw him at a seminar years ago and the guy was just so hugh. People wanted him to poise so he started pulling his leg pants up and they got stuck on his calf's, it was nuts.

The witch doctor is for sure not to blame for Tom's huge legs....I think all that BS only works if you think it works...I don't think its possible to be hypnotized...its something you either choose to go along with, or not.

Tom Platz worked out like a mad man. He brought training up another level. That's what I liked about him. He made a name for himself, without having to win the Big O.
