They lack a myostatin gene. Myostatin regulates the amount of muscle a creature can potentially have. So, they aren't really genetically limited in muscle growth.

I don't think the cows were genetically structured on purpose, not sure though.

There were a few babies that had this mutation though.

wow that freak dog makes my 80lbs pit look like a puss.....and it looks like a grey hound.
