I had othroscopic surgery in November, where they removed 1/2 of the miniscus. It is now 6 months later and I still can't run, play basketball or any physical activity. Does anyone have any suggestions about rehabing the knee? My doc thought I would be fine since I lift 5 times a week......consequently I start PT tonight.........6months late!

Ooooh, this is gonna drive you nuts. Listen to your PT, do the rehab suggested, and make sure you work with someone in sports med.

Sorry to hear about your knee, man.
Oh, and do what Built said because she knows her shit.

I'm older than you, and I feel your pain. You'll rehab this, but you are going to have to go way slower than you want to and it'll make you crazy.
Can you do deads without knee pain? You might focus on a specialization for upper body while you work through the rehab.
What is the rest of your training like?

Typically I have been on a split rountine ie Back/Bi, Chest/Tri, Legs/back day off and then back at it. However I will tell you that since My knee surgery I have been less than motivated to go to the gym. I feel like I am getting fat because I can't do any cardio. Even walking hills on the tred kills my knee! It just pisses me off.

Devildog, fat loss isn't cardio, especially at our age.
Let's get this to happen for you. You are no longer healing an acute injury, so we can clean up your diet.
Do you track on fitday? Know your macros?
Are you training now? And can you do any manner of deadlifts - for example, RDLs, where you don't bend the knee very much and you don't go all the way down to the floor?

Yes I can do RDL's. My diet is shit! Double cheese burgers and french fries! Never had to worry about it until recently. I admit I must clean up my diet!!!!! Training has been hit and miss since my injury, I tried but got discouraged very quickly. I will have to get back on track. I am a big fan of Tom Venuto.
