I was wondering how exactly you become a rep? I see so many people on here that are REPs for SB muscle or other things ect. What process do you go through to become a REP for a company and what are the benefits and negatives of being a REP?

I think being helpful, positive and having an idea of what your talking about is a good start. If you know your products then people will notice and when the right people notice!!!
No disadvantages, I still use the board for alot and advantages are alot of cool supps. If you truly want to see people benefit from things you have learned it will show.

ive been with ds for a couple of years, they approached me based on my knowledge and helping of others. the benefits will vary from company to company, reps get either free product or discounted product. sometimes you can move beyond being a rep for a company and actually do work for them.

the negatives are dealing with some of the stupidest questions known to mankind.

Where do you get noticed from? Is it just from being active on boards like this and posting helpful advice to any who ask?

posting on boards. occasionally there are call out for reps, which is an easy way in.

Palo Alto offered up rep positions and I applied. No disadvantages except all my friends hounding the crap out of me for free supps. Advantages do vary between companies but are typically worth it. PAL is a great company!

If you are truly looking to rep and have a good knowledge about at least one aspect of training/supplements, you could possibly hit one of the companies up to see if they want to carry a rep if they dont already have one. I know of one company that typically does not carry reps but did because my e-bro was such a high supporter of their supps.

This is pretty much the way it worked out for me.
LG wanted a rep, I applied and another member recommended me.

I was recommended to Anabolic Innovations by a board sponsor here. Then Sbmuscle also asked me if I would rep for them. Alot of it is trying to help people out and you get noticed by the quality of your posts. I get free product. I do this on 5 boards and I really like it but you do have to put up at times with the same questions over and over again sometimes by the same person and of course you just have haters out there that want to rip you any chance they get.

Really just use your knowledge of supps or whatever you specialize in. I have been around the fitness industry for several years dating back to boxing as a kid and it has always been apart of life. Now I manage a gym and this is just another way of applying and passing on alot of the info I have picked up.I had alot of experience with ph's , the guys here call me the mad scientist and the questions I answer hear I answer everyday at work.I have used many ph's and put (ready members) on many ph's and because of my interest kept very good track of who had what result and how serious they were taking it.I figured in alot, how they ate, slept,do they work in the heat during summer, alot of important things that effect cycles.
