sedentary vs active jobs

Just wondering if one should make diet adjustments for the type of job they have. My old job was a desk job but it required a lot of walking and chasing people around the office down.

My job now - I pretty much get up only to make my meals! On lunch I sometimes go for a short walk though.

I am just worried this "lazy" work environment will catch up to me.....
any Comments?

I would say no, I sit on my butt all day in my office, but when I go to the gym to workout I am drained when I leave.

Leslie, I'm sure it will if you eat more calories than you expend. However, that raises an interesting question on whether one should eat different ratios of carbs/protein/fats for different lifestyles.

Ass...err....I mean Ask w8....she sits on her ass "all day"......and never complains (much) about how it's spreading!

We do adjust nutrition to some extent.....but it's more about metabolism! HIIT, hard training, meal frequency, thermogenic effect of foods...they all play a big role!

I have a desk job and I don't worry about it.
I say it's all about the diet and hardcore workouts.
I would'nt worry about it Leslie
But then again I am a chronic fidgeter.
I don't know if it makes a difference but some seem to think so.
I shake my legs back and forth up and down every damn second that I'm at my desk.
It's a pretty bad habit

These articles are pretty interesting.

Quote from the article
"One subject spent nearly 700 calories in one day through fidgety movements -- the equivalent of jogging nearly six miles"

Go for it!
Start figdeting away.

I like to superset seated double arm fidgets
followed by a set of brutal alternating leg fidgets.
Try pre exhausted finger fidgeting.
It's pretty intense

that was pretty funny, lol....however, the Doc's comments...not so much!

I wouldn't worry about it unless you had a very physical job...when I was painting 6 hrs a day I found it really hard to keep w8 on....now that I sit behind a computer all day...well...shut up DP

No kidding. I used to have much more active jobs, had no problems eating what I wanted when I wanted, now through the last 4-5 years the bodyfat has piled up from sitting at a desk most of the day.
