Brady's season over after injuring knee vs. Chiefs

I beat Mino to a news story..........

Posted by: I Are Baboon

Sucks for the Pats and Pats fans.

Bummer. The Pats won't be as interesting to watch now and all their games are on local TV because they're the "local" team.

Not just Pats fans, football fans.

Go Jets!

Maybe.

Posted by: IainDaniel

Well it certainly helps be more optimistic with Brady gone.

Wonder if they will get Dante to come out of retirement to play.

Chris Simms suddenly in demand
Quote:
The most popular guy in the NFL Monday is free-agent QB Chris Simms, who was dumped by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Now that Tom Brady is likely done for the year, let's see how much of a genius Bill Belichick is — will he get Simms under contract? The Pats are having him in today, but the Chiefs and Titans also put in calls to him after their starting QBs went down.
Source: San Francisco Chronicle

Posted by: IainDaniel

Yeah I heard about simms. I just think Dante would be a better fit.

Posted by: shiznit2169

It's just all speculation for now. Brady is having an MRI done today and Belichick will be addressing the media at 3:00pm today to talk about Brady's injury. It is likely he will be out for the season but we do not know for sure yet.

When i heard he was not on the injury report for the first time in 2-3 seasons, i just had a bad feeling something was going to happen. Karma is a bitch.

Makes sense, reunite him and Randy.

Posted by: IainDaniel

Those were his good years.

Posted by: Dale Mabry

It's official, this sucks. And, Belichick said they haven't talked to any QBs yet. As much as this sucks, this will make the season interesting. I still see them making the playoffs, but it is certainly not a lock. The defense looked alot better than it did during the preseason, though it was against the Chiefs.

BTW, did anyone else see Indy suck it up last night? And the Chargers losing to the Panthers at home w/o Steven Smith. Parity, it's a motherfucker.

Yeah, Indy looked like shit. At least Philly looked pretty good.

Posted by: dg806

The Panthers game was awesome.

Posted by: I Are Baboon

I predict 10-6 for the Pats.

I think that's a fair assessment.

Posted by: Dale Mabry

I think 10-6 is fair, win the division, lose in the 1st round.

Posted by: lucifuge

So, I wonder if Belichick will still get the coach of the year award without Brady?

The Bears simply manhandled the Colts... and it appears as if we finally have a running game again... and that is a beautiful thing

Posted by: Goodfella9783

Cassel should be the QB because he's been around and knows the system well. For precautionary reasons, bring in Simms or Rattay to learn the offense and be ready to backup Cassel if he starts fucking up.

I was impressed with the defense yesterday. Big fan of Merriweather. Deltha O'neal was a BIG pickup.

I was thinking the same thing. No more blowouts. They're gonna have to grind out their big games ala 2001-2003-2004 with both their defense and offense. Time for veterans to step it up.

This is where true fans come in. Which you guys don't have many. There are probably more true Patriot fans here in Philly then there are in Boston.

I work in MA and am surrounded by Patriots fans. Nobody here is bailing on them. Their attitude is "OK, let's see what Casell can do!" The Patriots are a solid team outside of Tom Brady and most people know that.

I think he meant won't be as interesting to watch for casual fans who want to see 50 points per game.

Yeah this is pretty much a load of b/s. You have more of a case for Red Sox fans (many of whom showed up after the 2003 season), but not the Patriots. Not at all. You must still be bitter from the past few times we've handled the Eagles, including the SB.

Also, where's your evidence that us "Boston Red Sox Fans" gave up because Brady went down? Aside from a few ESPN analysts who say our road to Tampa is harder now, no one has give up. I think you're forgetting we're the same fans who watched Bledsoe go down and virtually nameless Brady step in and lead us to a SB victory. Anything can happen.

It's ridiculous. Celtics games are gonna be similar now. I used to be able to buy $10 balcony seats the day of games. No way that's gonna be possible now.

Here in New York City you see the Dominicans from Washington Heights wearing a Boston hats now, they used to wear Yankee or Met hats before.

You can be sure if we were to lose any war lets say if we had a war with Korea and we were losing they would be wearing Korean hats.

It's pretty clear he's one of the millions of Patriots haters jealous of their recent success (understandable )...Now he's trying to take it out on our fans like we're all just gonna stop supporting the Pats

My boy goes to school in Philly and went to the Sox/Phils last year in PA and said probably 1/3 of the crowd were Red Sox fans. And he has the nerve to call us front runners? We've been selling out all our pro team venues for years.

The Phillies actually broke their sellout record this year. Not as good as the Sox, but they are coming up on 50 this year.

Several guys are out or going to be out with Knee injuries. Brady already is. I lost Nate Burleson on my fantasy team to a knee injury, Dallas Clark may go out also on my fantasy with knee problems and now Vince Young is down. What is going on?
