Sponser label.

Maybe place a label saying so and so is an official IM sponser.

With all of these spam threads it's getting hard to tell who isn't nowadays.

Like right where the Moderator and Elite tags are.

I have seen some forums. Where the Sponsors name is a different colour like Green. And the Mods are Red.

You might have multiple sponsors. Not just one.

I like that idea. I remember on more than a few occasions someone going off on a "spammer" and they ended up being a board sponsor.

Haha! A few years ago yeah, but the last few times I was the one that mentioned that the guy was a board sponsor. I won't make that mistake twice.
