Let me get a head start on this.

2-0*

No Brady but it was obvious in both games they werent the offensive monster they have been with him. I don't see and AFC championship game for them this year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Bills take the AFC East

It looks possible and wouldn't surprise me either.

Lame thread. Could have just posted this in the IM fantasy football thread. Instead of wasting bandwidth. Its 2 games dude.

Do they play the Rams?
We could use a easy win.

Oh, by the way people...this is a real NY team.

Week 4!

The Rams will be lucky to win three games this season, and the only reason they might actually win a few games is that they still have enough talent on offense (Bulger, Holt, Jackson) to outscore a couple of teams.

Fantasy football has nothing to do with team accomplishments.

This is a thread highlighting the accomplishments of the 2008 New England Patriots, not how in the post-Super Bowl era Randy Moss would line up alongside Jerry Rice as the best wide out to ever play the game.

When DeSean Jackson shows his true (skin) color/s and drops the ball in celebration before entering the end zone stripping fantasy teams across the world of a touchdown, that'll be posted in the Fantasy Football thread.

Seven quarters into the Matt Cassell era, a 2-0 record, and the Patriots have no chance this year?

I'm not saying the Patriots are going to win the Super Bowl this year, but writing them off right now is foolish IMO.

The Jets through the first two weeks look very much like the 7-9/8-8 team I thought they'd be when they made the Favre trade. The Bills have been great and will be the Patriots toughest division foe, but that has a lot more to do with their schedule than the talent they possess. The Dolphins, blah.

With that said, the Bills will not win the Super Bowl this year and really aren't even on the Super Bowl radar as far as I'm concerned. The same can't be said for the Patriots.

I'm sure the Patriots will be just fine. Relax and enjoy your season.

Posted by: min0 lee

Damn, I thought for sure they would be able to use the 19-0 shirts.

Posted by: bio-chem

yea, it wasn't cassel. the defense was like a collander

Posted by: dg806

Ronnie Brown lights em up!

Posted by: ReproMan

Even Ricky had 98 yards on the ground in addition to Ronnie's 100+ and Pennington was 17 for 20.

Chad's curse is his arm strength....he's really not that bad.

Yep... shoulder troubles did him in.

he doesn't have jay cutler or aaron rogers arm strength, but it's really not as bad as they keep saying. When he is healthy its just fine for what he needs. he is super accurate.

Before that it was really below average but the injuries really hurt him.

Not bad at all, he knows how to "spot" throw.

Posted by: ReproMan

I've always thought highly of Chad, he has great mechanics and has a good mind for the game. But even before his shoulder problems he wasn't known for having the strongest arm around.

I've never seen so many wide open receivers in one game in my life.

As a diehard Patriots fan, i am not surprised. I watched them during preseason and the starting D was getting lit up by 2nd stringers on offense. Even with Brady, the Patriots wouldn't be as good as they were last year. I predicted a 11-5 season with a loss in the 2nd round of the playoffs but now with Cassel at the helm, i won't be surprised if they miss the playoffs.

The Patriots had a good run. All good things come to an end. I truly enjoyed the past 8 years watching them dominate the league and bringing home 3 SB's (could've easily been 5) but i couldn't be any happier. Half the team is getting old and most will be gone in a couple years. It'll be a rebuilding phase all over again in a couple years and they will be back to "average".

watch any team the denver broncos secondary plays against. they are giving up 300 yrds a game and a 72 percent completion rate.

So much for their shutdown defensive backfield...

The Patriots are just AWFUL!!!

Cassel hesitates too much. O-line can't block. Defense is OLD and SLOW! Randy Moss isn't trying anymore. Reverting back to his old form from his Oakland days.

I can't stand this anymore. Last year was perfect until the SB loss and Brady going down for the season. Life sucks.

The corners are great. Not many teams play as much man to man as denver. the problem is the defensive line not getting enough pressure on the qb. you start pressuring the qb and those two corners will make oportune plays all day long. as it is, with todays rules of course they are going to get burned playing that much man to man with the rules favoring the receiver. I have no problems with bailey or bly lining up back there.

Everyone was spoiled!

Shiz, relax.

The Patriots are 3-2 with Matt Cassel at quarterback. Not everything has gone their way as it has in recent years and thinking it would is just stupid in my opinion.

There is no clear cut team in the AFC.

The Titans at 5-0 don't scare me in a playoff game. They may well be a 12-4 type of team, but I'd take a 10-6 Patriots in that game no questions asked.

Same goes for the Steelers, Bills, etc. who have all shown they're beatable at times.

Denver will be a real test at home on Monday night next week but they should beat St. Louis the following week and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a 5-2 team head into Indianapolis a couple weeks from now.

Never again will the Patriots (nor any other team) go undefeated, so don't expect that they're never going to lose.

I am not expecting that they'll win every game. You need to face reality here. Did you not see how the Defense played last night? Vincent Jackson single handedly walked all over the Pats secondary. Deltha O'neil got burned! The D-line cannot put any pressure on the QB.

Matt Cassel on the other hand ... no comment.

Unfortunately, I did watch the game and yes, all your criticism of this team is spot on.

However, with the parity of the league (especially the AFC) I'm not ready to throw in the towel on this season just yet.

You guys have had a great team a while. You can't be the best all the time.

easiest schedule in the NFL

At the beginning of the year. All of the teams who have 2 losses or less, Pats Titans, Giants, Panthers, and Steelers, seems to have easy schedules based on opponent's current record. The Panthers and Pit seem to have the hardest schedules of the 5 teams, 28-31 and 23-27, respectively. Pats, Titans, and Giants seem to have about the same ease of schedule. I think the steelers will seriously contend for the Super Bowl once Fast Willie gets back.

have you seen the giants schedule? their last half of the season is a true test. as for the patriots, it'll be a few years before they see the superbowl again.

I am so fucking pissed off after tonight's HORRIBLE performance
YOU CANNOT BE CONSERVATIVE AND SETTLE FOR FIELD GOALS AGAINST A HIGH POWERED OFFENSIVE SCORING MACHINE LIKE THE COLTS. YOU JUST CAN'T! THE SO-CALLED "GENIUS" IN BELICHICK SURE LOOKED LIKE A ROOKIE HEAD COACH TONIGHT.

I am absolutely livid and almost punched the fucking TV. I shaved 10 years off my life because of games like this.

Posted by: Dale Mabry

Actually, last nights game gave me a little hope. They seem to be getting better and Cassel played well. If they play mistake-free football for 4 quarters, which I think they can, they can compete with anyone. They played 3.5 quarters of mistake-free football last night and blew it on 2 stupid plays, the drop by Gaffney and the personal foul on Thomas.

The only thing that frustrates me is that Cassel CANNOT go downfield yet.
