Anyt softball players on here?

What league do you play in? (ASA, USSSA...ect)

I just started playing this year, playing ASA ball could use some pointers, hitting in my only weakness but in my defense we have some shitty bats, the only composite we have is 30oz, and at 5'9 175 it is a bit heavy for me...Yes I do work out of course but still it is not the correct weight for me....


anyways Im really enjoying playing and am glad I started, this is the only sport I have played in a long time and I miss this feeling of competing in something....

Im going to guess there are some big dudes on this site who can mash the ball, would like to get some tips on power hitting as well to make up for my lack of size.

Try hitting for distance. Forget making solid contact and getting on bases, it's overrated. Small ball is for chumps, go for the porches.

Been playing for years. I tomahawk everything. If they are playing a 5 man infield then hit the gaps, if they are straight up then use the middle. Focus on centering the ball first, then worry about power. I walk the box I cannot stand and hit all that well, I like to adjust to the pitch. I was getting paid to play 2 summers ago, good shit. BTW-I hate ASA! Worst bats and ball there are!

Does ASA have the 98 mph rule on the bats?

Yeah they do. I like playing NSA, you get to use the 120's! Those are fun. Doesnt really matter right now though, everyone shaves their bats because they are a bunch of big babies!
