Eatting after a workout

My meal plan requires me to eat every three hours. I have been consistent, but this past weekend I ran into a dilema.

I have always heard you should not eat for at least 30-45 min after cardio. But you guessed it, right after my cardio it was already 20 min past my meal time. I waited 15 min and then ate.

What should I have done?

DP, W8lifter, anyone?

I don't do cardio, but my W/O's are severe.....and Cardiovascular in nature.

There is no problem with that....I prefer to w8 a tiny bit while my metabolism is on overdrive, works either way....more rapid glycogen replacement and tissue repair if you ingest your nutrients sooner than later!

If it is a shake...you will find that you could w8...and move your folliowing meal to 2 hours away!

I just stick to my regular meals, but I always move my workouts around my meals anyway. If I have missed or am late for a meal, I always eat

I'm always hungry by the time I work out and shower. I have never heard that you should wait a certain amount of time after working out to eat. If you are hungry, then eat! Or are you not hungry all the time?

what if u get hungry before the 3 hours are up for the next meal?say around 2 hours later

Then you gotta stick it out and perhaps re evaluate your meals...Are you taking in enough cals ect??

I always thought the philosophy was..if you are hungry, then eat! I mean, assuming you are eating and will be eating clean food. No?

i do eat enough but sometimes i feel hungry between meals

Eat when hungry up to two hours apart...the exception being a PWS (post W/O shake) and a meal one hour later if hungry!

As DP said, it depends on your goals If you're cutting, then you stick to your meal plan...every 3 hrs, nibbling and eating whenever you want is only going to lead to extra calories...which is fine on a bulk, but not on a cut.
