I suffer from adhd or the symptoms of adhd, so the front of my mind seems to always be restless and a little out of control... this also comes with a behavior problem so i am constantly stressed and depressed and a sleep disorder so I cant sleep with the front of my mind that just wont shut down... Will these bring down my testosterone levels and my muscle mass?..

I take fish oil caps. Will they help maintain testosterone levels and my muscle size and strength?

yea but this is a problem worth worrying about, isnt it?

if I keep trying to increase my testosterone and muscle mass with plenty of efas and intense exercises, is it worth it if i cant even sleep at night and constantly get depressed which will cause atrophy?

your constant worrying about trivial things is probably having a more detrimental impact.

This.

Have you ever thought that your depression is self-propagating?

Ie - One of the main reasons you are stressed out is because you're worrying about being stressed out.

well i think that adhd has a huge deal to do with it...

imagine spending every second of everyday with a frontal lobe that just wont relax...

i take fish oil caps so it is getting better, but still it is a problem for me

There is no way to tell you that through a forum.

There are soooo many factors to consider that you aren't aware of. If you really want to know, go get you testosterone tested.

are u actuslly diagnosed with adhd?

or a self diagnosis

its a self diagnose, and I do my research and realize that i have all the symptoms of adhd.

I will say that reading a bunch of stuff off of the internet will really start to get to you. I know this from experience. So go to a doctor if youre really that concerned.

ADHD doesnt just mean your display the symptoms of ADHD

if you really want to know if you have ADHD you have to have an MRI done on your brain

and studies have shown that it is actually WAY over diagnosed

your probably just being a nervous little shit

but
im no doctor

aside from that...

i cant see how having a short attention span could effect your muscularity

maybe the sleeping disorder part

well thats not even half of it... it comes with a behavorial disorder so u constantly get stressed and depressed.. and ofcourse the sleeping disorder and restlessness is also a big issue as well.

I dont think my adhd is that severe though. As I said before i take 3 concentrated fish oil caps a day and I think Ive noticed improvement in my focus ability. Also offcourse I dont want adhd controlling my muscularity and strength and ive read that fish oil maintains muscle mass and testosterone levels, is this true?

This question seems kind of irrelevant to bodybuilding, so I'll answer accordingly:

It bares repeating, your mind CANNOT consciously observe the physiological symptoms of ANY disorder, and on this basis, you cannot diagnose yourself - only a doctor can do this. In truth of fact, the only thing you can do is take note of your physical symptoms. You have great reason to believe you have leukemia if you have a bruise that won't heal, but you will never get accepted for kemotherapy because a wikipedia site told you depression is a major symptom. It might seem like I'm exaggerating here, but it's true.

Look, you may not believe me but let's step back and clean the slate a bit. You say you suffer from a sleeping disorder, when in fact, you are not. Insomnia (the most common sleeping disorder) is brought on because the mind is unable to relax and remains restless, you can't stop thinking about the events of the day. ADHD, or attention deficit hyper disorder, is brought on by a short attention span, a lack of significant concentration. How is it possible that your mind is able to focus on the events of the day when it is barely able to focus at all? I am a medical student, and I can whip a couple textbooks out right now to show you this is a proven fact.

I diagnosed myself with a short-term memory span when I was in middle school, and all through my secondary education I blamed my failing homework grades on this inability. When I look back now, I realize that it was absurd to believe I had a memory problem when, in fact, I was too disorganized to remember anything (I should have used my planner). Consider the possibility that you are using ADHD as an excuse for something much bigger - bad school grades maybe?

Ask your parent or sibling who shares a room with you to pay close attention to your sleeping habits (don't trust yourself, let someone else do it). If he/she tells you you really couldn't sleep, consider the fact that it could be an uncomfortable bed or bad room conditions. Also, reevaluate your school work - are you truly giving school a modest effort (you're a junior/senior in high school, you should be!). Hell, for all I know, you might just be using this whole attention disorder as an excuse for lazyness. Don't let a nonexistant problem tear your life apart, and I can tell you with absolute certainty, suicide will never be the answer.

Stop forcing your mind to believe the untrue just because it sounds more than plausable. Your 17, you should know by now that nothing is what it seems (IE: weight training frequently may seem logical to a bodybuilder but it will just lead to overtraining). Once I realized the stupidity in my actions I turned my life around, and now I'm studying in Washington University (one of the top 5 medical schools in the USA ... not to show off or anything :P). If all else fails, try harder.

PS: As for the fish oil pill thing, omega 3s have been proven to help increase mental wellness and should be taken regardless of diagnosis, but it'll take a hell lot of pills to reach a desirable amount. Try cold pressed oils.

Good post by the new guy, welcome to IM

And not even qualified doctors can self-diagnose with great accuracy, if at all. You're not one, its probably psychosomatic.
