Proper form made my deadlifts go up!!!!!!

Hey guys, just wanted to share a personal experience I had today at the gym. I recently did alot of reading about squats, bench press and deadlifts because they are my staple exercises. And I realized that after 3 years of deadlifting Ive been doing it incorrectly. The problem I was making was, the bar was too far away from my shins, I now keep the bar VERY close to my shins throughout the whole lift. And since I made this little change, my deadlift jumped up 20lbs within 1 workout!!!! My lowerback doesnt feel as stiff after the exercise and I feel way more power and control when lifting and lowering the bar. Also, I have been emphasizing now on de-weighting the bar where as before I would lower the bar within an inch of the floor and just go back up. My technique, weight and strength has gone through the roof!! All because I corrected my form!

So for those who are sacrificing proper form for higher weights, know that if not right away, your lifts will increase like you never thought possible!!

The mistake many people make regarding proper is always using to much weight.

Leave the ego at the door.

Take a look into my sig, good stuff.

If you have a velcro "sissy" (for squatters) pad wrap it around the bar. My gym has a couple. I did deads yesterday. I'm usually dragging on my shins so much that I scarred them up before so I started using the pad.

Way to go.

I notice alot of people say they scrape it along their shins on the ways up and down, is it still acceptable if I am like an inch away from my shins??? I perfer not scraping it ??

Is there any VERY informative tutorials for the proper squat? I have a feeling I may be doing them incorrectly as well.
