There is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much info on whey protein. Unfortunately, it comes from sponsors of their particular product. Can I please hear from the experts on this forum as to what brand I should buy and how often to take it?

I am 5' 11" and weigh 235lbs. Just started working out 3X a week (home gym and free weights). Do I only drink this stuff just before and after each workout?

Thanks everyone !

Post workout is the best time. And any other time you need protein will be fine.( ie, when you first get up and when you go to bed.)

yup! post workout 1st and in the morning are great times to have a whey shake. casein protein is can be taken at night since its digested slower then whey protein.

All The Whey has a really good tasting flavor they call Cinnamon Bun. Not sure if it matters to you, but ON 100% Gold Standard is a whey blend. For cost comparison ATW is whey isolates but is also available in a blend.
I use both, ON 100% Gold Standard chocolate flavor and ATW cinnamon bun flavor.

I'm digging Isopure lately.

right, ON contains isolate and concentrate.

IronMagLabs whey is pure isolate.

I like Muscle Milk too.

I also like the Ironmag Labs whey protein. I have only tried chocolate, but it mixes very well and tastes a lot better and is not as thin as most of the other whey protein isolate brands that I have tasted in the past.

I honestly think that the protein my gym sells is the best tasting and best value protein ive ever tried. 3kg for £25 is a damned good price, the stuff mixes immediately with just stirring, and has no sweetners or anything that make most commercial brands so sweet i puke.

Unfortunately theres only one Dave's Gym, so its not really available to the greater weightlifting community :P.

If anybody trustworthy wants some i could be a middle man though, i guess, lol.

Im not a picky person when it comes to protein I just normally stick with ON. I was never sold on MM taste like everyone else and I stay away due to fat contents at times. I had some of the Isopure RTD'S and didn't like the taste of them but have had the powder and liked it.

I use ON now, only because a local store sells it at basically the same price it costs me to order online + ship. It tastes pretty good too.

I also use alot of the Vitamin World brand protein. Protoplex I believe they call it. It's cheap and don't taste or mix too bad.
