How effective are fixed-far tricep extensions for hypertrophy?

I found this exercise in a book and thought I'd give it a try. Just to clarify in case the name isn't universal, it's where (in the example it shows it as) on a Smith Machine you lean towards the bar (shown at about a 45 degree angle...and the lower the bar the harder it is) with a straight body and your upper feet resting on the ground flat and you push yourself away from the bar.

I was thinking of trying this one, as I prefer tricep exercises using body weight. Has anyone tried this exercise before? How effective is this one?

Sounds like you are doing an inverted decline press with body weight only. Like any other body weight only movement gains will diminish as you get stronger.
