Skiing

Have a couple of questions. My last workout was Thursday and I then took off for the weekend to go skiing. Haven't skied in a while. My legs are just crushed...squats don't compare to consecutive days of skiing.

Questions:

* Does anyone have any idea how many calories you burn in an average day of skiing? (I'm trying to figure out if I burned those beers at the lodge afterwards).

* I'd think that skiing is pretty good for core strength. Lots of full body "movements." What muscle groups would you work out on Monday after a weekend of skiing? Or groups you would stay away from? (I'd think legs is a clear avoid).

Thanks.

What does it matter now? You cant go back and undrink them. Just focus on getting your diet back on track now that your training normally again.

That was kinda a joke...thus, the use of parens'.

I am interested in knowing the caloric burn from skiing.

For an hour at the slopes your maybe only actually sking for about 20-30mins couting lifts and shit. Ballpark figure maybe between 200-300cals an hour.

Thanks much.

If that's the case, it would seem that I burned off a beer every hour of skiing. Probably a wash although the dehydration factor was big...definitely was too busy skiing and not drinking enough water.

Curious...how does an hour of skiing compare to your average intense 45-60 minute workout in the gym? More or less equal?
