ok guys im 26yrs old 152lbs 5'8" 7"wrists. Naturally lean. i have lifted on and off for years and when i stick with it i see decent results but i seem to plateau at around 165lbs and after i stop lifting for a few months i lose right back down to 150lbs i mean i dont lose all my mass but some of it. i know bodybuilding is a lifestyle and i should never stop lifting and i should always keep eating the correct amount of calories, but i with a wife and kid and two jobs this has been tough. this time around my wife and i decided to make a lifestyle change not just for us but for our son. so i know i can stick with my diet and exercise programs now. im not on my own with nutrition at home and a group of friends to lift with and keep me motivated. i started lifting again about three weeks ago and have went from about 148 to 152 and 14" arms so off to a good start. sorry about the bio but i just wanted to give some background.

now my question and please keep it real:Can someone my size get to be bodybuilder size without the help of steriods???
(not asking if i should take them!!)

naturally, if someone my size eats right and works out year round how many years would it take to get to be even half their size???

You just gotta keep the food going in.

Will you turn into Ronnie Coleman? No.

Will you get jacked enough to have uninformed friends ask you if you're "on 'roids"? Hell yeah. But only if you keep the food going in.

Easy fix: olive oil. Cheap, easy, healthy calories. Toss a few tablespoons in a few of your shakes to keep the calories going in.

thanks yeah i know i dont think anyone could be colemans size (well naturally)!! i guess i was just wondering if 18-20" arms would even be possible on someone with my frame size and build even if i ate right and kept working out? and if so how long does it take to achieve these kind of results?? i mean is it possible in a year without roids or like four years to go from 14" arms to 18" arms??

Thats a very difficult question to answer, we know absolutley nothing about you, dont know how you train, how you eat, what your genetics are like ect.

Stick around for a while, and read up and correct training and nutrition (save yourself a lot of time by doing it correctly from the start as opposed to spinning your wheels) and give yourself 18months - 2years solid lifting. I'd be pretty confident that you are more than happy with the gains you will make.

Got to be consistant especially with your food intake like previously mentioned, this even more so if your naturally lean. If you train hard and never miss meals rear round you can transform your physique.

4 hard years of dedication, possibly. But nobody knows your true genetic potential or determination, or intelligence with training/diet.

14 to 18 inches is a huge mass gain, if you calculate the area inside an 18 inch circle versus 14 inches you have a 65% increase in total mass. Every inch gets harder not just due to caloric increases and genetic limitations, but sheer cubic volume. This is why tall people weigh much more than someone just a little bit shorter, 260 pound basketball players versus 170 pound shorter people built identically, from just an 8 -16" difference in height.

Compound exercises and a clean high calorie diet will go a long way toward building muscle.
