Yesterday I went to sports shop to buy a Chin-up bar. So the sales guy shows me 2 different bars, now I have seen these bars before but I am not sure which one is best.
As far as I know the original chin-up bars were straight one's & the new ones with bent ends are something new. But which one is better?
Price wise there is not much difference.
Please help me choose (Pic attached)

the straight bar is fine.
chances are the bent bar has the "bent" part way to far wide for you to do proper pull ups anyway. Also, who needs the bent part to do overhand grip pull ups?

yea i agree with patrick, it is probably going to be too wide. besides pull ups/chin ups are best for lats and they're best developed with a narrower grip
besides the straight bar will be more space convenient

Actually I am going fabricate the bar myself. Space is not a issue. I just wanted to know opinion of members.
Patrick, are pull ups with over hand grip really no good? Can you elaborate a bit, Please.
Will pull ups with wide distance over hand grip strain the wrist's? (On bent bar I mean)
Thanks.
