Joba Chamberlain's*mom jailed, suspected of selling meth - MLB - SI.com

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- The mother of New York Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain is jailed in Nebraska and facing a felony charge after being arrested on suspicion of selling methamphetamine to an undercover police officer in February.

Lincoln Police Capt. David Beggs said Monday that 44-year-old Jacqueline Standley was arrested at her apartment Saturday night.
Beggs said she allegedly sold 1 gram of a substance believed to be meth to an uncover officer for $110 on Feb. 11. The substance tested positive for meth in testing at the state laboratory.

She was charged Monday with delivery of an exceptionally hazardous drug. Her bail was set at $5,000, and she was assigned a public defender, whose name was not on her jail record.

Chamberlain found out about the arrest after arriving at Yankee Stadium on Monday night. He said he hadn't spoken with her in a while.
"You've only got one mom, man, and you've got to be thankful for her," he said. "I still love her."

With this news, it shouldn't be shocking to anybody that Chamberlain intentionally hit Jason Bay last night.

Part of the game.

Your saying that he took out his frustration out on Bay because of his Mom?

Isolated incidents - Joba is just a moron.

Posted by: min0 lee

It is ironic that he pitched against a another moron that night.

Jason Bay is absolutely killing the Yankees this year, and the beaning is only going to make it worse for the Yankees.

What's funny to me is the fact that he was pumping his fist and prancing around like he had just won the World Series only to be down a run because of how shitty he pitched in the opening frame.

That's comical.

Add this guy to the long list of Yankee douchebags.

Brush backs and dinging batters have been a part of the Game since the beginning of time. If that is bush league then so be it.

It's not bush league to brush somebody back, it's bush league to intentionally hit somebody in any place but the stomach, ass or thigh.

The fact that he's tried to hit Youkilis in the head on more than one occasion doesn't bode well for him either.

Regardless of whether it's bush league or not is irrelevant - he was pumping his fist and patting himself on the back after getting out of a jam when they were down a run?

There is no excuse for that.

I agree.

Pedro used to let his emotions get the better of him at times - lucky for me and Red Sox fans alike, Pedro Martinez is one of the best pitchers in the history of the game (if not the best) and was able to get out of these jams he brought on frequently.

In Joba's case, it's just ridiculous.

He's down runs and getting himself into jams because Bay hit a home run off of him?

The New York papers, radio, etc. are tearing him a new asshole.

At least when Papelbon.. K-Rod.. etc. celebrate, they're doing so following a win.

In Joba's case, he doesn't care about wins or losses so long as he has double digit strike outs.

Your right, I'm sitting here saying to myself what the fuck is he cheering about.
He did better after the first frame but com on'
It's not just him, it's happening all over in sports.

I am with you on this, someone needs to pull him to the side and learn him.
