Do you have these two studies handy?
Fat cell lipolysis induced by theophylline in obese subjects before and after caloric restriction G Chiodini, et al Arch Maragliano Patol Clin, Jan 1979; 35: 7-11. Topical fat reduction from the waist. Caruso MK, et al Diabetes Obes Metab. 2007 May;9(3):300-3. What amount of theophylline is in your product? In this study, Anti-obese action of raspberry ketone., the subjects were fed the raspberry ketone. Is there reason to believe that applying it topically to the skin will have the same effect? Also, since the subjects are mice, how confident are we that this will work in humans? Patrick |

I've tried some of these topical fatloss products and they really don't work for spot treatment. I've been told by those who claim to have a thorough understanding of topical skin delivery products that these products never make it past the skin. Instead the get stuck in some layer and the blood vessels bring them into circulation in the bloodtream hence why the effects are systematic instead of localized.
I've also been told the same applies to topical steroids. They won't have direct effect on the muscle groups applied to because they never make it far enough and become systematic. |
