Due to a new Illinois law that took effect on June 1st, when someone medically overdoses, the person that ODs and those that contact emergency services cannot be charged with or prosecuted for the possession or use of the drug that caused the overdose. This is to help prevent people dying because people are scared to call 911 because they don't want to get into trouble.
Further more SWIM did not say he was on steroids, only that he used them months ago, steroids should not have been included in any search warrant. Also SWIM told them where the remaining heroin was, not in the same room as the steroids, there is no reason a search warrant for an entire residence should have been granted, especially for something that SWIM could not be charged with or prosecutor for.
Even further more SWIM was never read his Miranda Rights, even though SWIM was not officially charged yet, SWIM was not free to leave the police department. SWIM was in an interrogation room for 4-6 hours. Anything SWIM might have said is out.
SWIM powder supply also means that the steroids where in a non useable form, therefore SWIM was simply planning on his HRT for a few years to come. SWIM was only going to use everything for personal use of course. SWIM would have batched everything if SWIM intended to sell anything.
