i have tried the eat a lot of small meals and it kept me starving and thinking of food.
the first half of this challenge i had 2 shakes and 1 big meal a day and i lost 14 pounds. then my arm sorta got twisted to shit cuz i was tooooo lazy to disassemble a big mirror before moving it and i stopped exercising and started eating more or less normal 3 meals a day usually whatever my son was having. i weighed myself nearly 6 weeks later and had kept off the 14 pounds. to me that says i made actual real for keeps progress on two shakes and one big meal that was satisfying. all the little ones you never feel satisfied and that feeling really blows.

Little Wing illustrates an important point here: if you can't stick to it long term, it really doesn't matter how "optimal" somebody's lab-rat says it is - it won't work.
You need to eat less if you want to lose weight. You need to eat less FOREVER if you want to KEEP it off.

thanks. it's pretty easy to stick to a calorie restriction if you can count on one meal you know will fill you up each day and not feel you have to go through the rest of your life feeling hungry and deprived. in 2006 i was 50 pounds lighter than i am now and was having one good meal a day then too. then i got so pissed at Vanity i refused to reward his bs with a hot girlfriend. :P it's funny to me now but it's a bitch to get back off.

the trouble with any research saying "most people" is they didn't ask "most people" and any idiot can find a group of people willing to say what they are looking for.

'ZAAAAACTLY. I've done all that research about how this affects that and if you eat this and that at such and such a time in this order you'll feel.... blah blah blah. And tired to follow it. And basically confused myself when I didn't feel the way "they" said I was supposed to or couldn't feel the effects of whatever doing whatever to my blood sugar levels etc etc. I boils down to how I FEEL. I feel FULL after a solid meal. I feel HAPPY that friggin SOMETHING is working for me finally, and I'm going to be quite amused to have skinny boy try to tell me to go back to the way "everyone" is supposed to lose weight.
I will give you those blood level thingys Built, when I get them. Haven't forgotten, just pull-hair-out busy. We're finally settling in.
