    The Hubauer Log

Hey guys, here's my log for the 2011 challenge. It seems most everyone is cutting, I on the other hand will be BULKING! I am going to take another couple weeks to lean out, then start my first cycle. (more details on that later) My goal is to gain 15-20lbs, with as much lean mass as possible. My side goal is to bring up my tiny legs. (it's embarrassing)

    1) Age - 23
    2) Weight, Height, and Percent BodyFat - currently 180, 6' even,~11%bf
    3) Training routine and Diet
Training - Push/Pull split focusing on heavy lifts with minimal accessory lifts; I usually lift as heavy as possible for 1 working set, but plan to increase my volume as the gear allows
Diet - I'm cutting right now, so I won't bump carbs up too fast when I start, but I plan to work up to 4000-4500 cal pretty quickly. High protein/high carb/moderate fat

    So begins

    Thanks man, you too.

Today is an off day, hopefully I can get in some cardio tonight.
I have stopped losing weight at 2300cal/day so I'm going to decrease just a tad... probably around 2100 a day. Cutting sucks bad. A couple more weeks of cut and then it's game time.

Not really shooting for a weight... but I was hoping to diet enough to see abs. But I'm not that worried as long as I start my bulk pretty lean.

Hopefully my pictures will be up soon, I bet most people (myself included) want some comparison with the competition.

Today's workout was a push day, and I didn't get in a good breakfast so my workout sucked balls. Everything was one set of 8-10 unless specified.

Leg Extension - entire stack on machine (around 200lbs I think)
Incline Bench on Smith - 180lbs added to bar
Squats - 260 for 4 reps???? felt really fried here for some reason
DB Bench Press - 95lbs each
Hip abductors - 14 on plate machine (not sure how much)
DB Shoulder Press - 80lbs each for 5 --> going down to 75 until I get a solid 10 reps
Calf Raise on Smith - 270lbs added to bar
    Tricep Pushdown - 80lbs for 15
Machine Chest Fly - entire stack (around 120lbs) for 15

Cardio: 15min of pretty good pace on the stationary bike

Notes: It sucked balls. Adding in some additional leg work when I start cutting out cardio. Going up on anything that I got over 10reps.

I bet they'll get them up pretty soon. Just a heads up, I have the same body structure as you; and it looks like (can't be sure) I have a bigger upper body and smaller legs.

I've seen your pics before when you posted them. Ya that sounds about right. I got small arms and big legs and you got the opposite. Should be a good battle, noobie gains vs AAS.

Lol it matters just as much as far as winning goes, it's about the biggest change not the best body at the end.

No weights today, just a quick bodyweight workout, abs, pushups and whatnot. I really need some help leaning out. I have been eating 100% clean for about 2 months, and progressively decreasing my calories when I plateau. Right now, I'm down to 2100cal per day! I eat over 200g of protein/day with 65-70g of fat, and leave the rest to carbs.

I included a picture that is not a contest pic, just to give you guys an idea of where I'm at. I will take ANY advice on leaning out the last bit. Should I try something like a PSMF?

11% bodyfat and on gear? UD2.0 my friend.
Wondering where to start? Confused? "Homework 1" will get you started.

Think you're ready for the "next step"? Take this test.

haha, not on gear yet. I really wanted to be pretty lean when I start my cycle to help judge lean gains. Still go with UD2.0?
And right now I'm guessing I'm over 11%, I've been dieting pretty solid and my abs are still hiding.

You could do a bump with PSMF for a week or two, then a week off, then UD2.0 - and yes.

Thanks for the response! I think I'm going to go ahead and start the UD2.0. I have done a week of PSMF before, but it shut me down hard and I'm just starting final exams.

P.s.I tried to rep you, but it says I have to spread some more rep first. Anyone want some lovin?

Pictures are up! Take a look, I will take any criticism on where I need to improve. Basically, I need to improve everything, but especially my legs.

I have officially started UD2.0 for the last several weeks of the cut. If anyone wants to see my macros and whatnot, let me know. Otherwise let it suffice to say that it is 4 days of low carb, low fat, high protein, then a GLORIOUS carb load.

Today was a depletion workout: high reps and light weight to deplete my muscle glycogen and start using my fat stores.

    Incline DB Press 3x15
    Wide grip lat pulldown 3x15
    Bench press 3x15
    DB row 3x15
    BB shrugs 2x15
    DB lateral raise 2x15

And I did that entire routine twice. Exhausting, but kind of nice to have a change from really low volume.

How big are your legs? You look like you have brought them up a little bit since you posted that pic in the diet section a while ago. Good luck with your cut.

I haven't really brought them up since I made that other post, but I think I have a bit more definition in my quads. I started pre-exhausting with leg extension before squats. It kills the weight you can use but your quads feel amazing.

Where should one measure one's quads? It is half way between the top of the thigh and the knee?

Another depletion day, legs and arms, all 3x15

    Leg press
    DB curl
    Hamstring curl
    Tricep pushdown
Calf press using 3 angles - 5 reps for each angle

Did the entire thing twice. I tried to get 20 reps on some sets for legs, because the alternate way to do the workout ends up having you do more volume.

Total Daily Calories - 0 (or at least that's what it felt like)
