Little Wing has Balls of Steel

I'm going to have to have to post my pics.

    i am
    50 years old
    5'9 and weigh
    207 pounds

that is according to my bathroom scales. drs appointment next week will be exact. i will ask my dr about bodyfat percentage.

i have a pretty good body for an old lady camouflaged by lard.

my goal is to trim off the fat and get some degree of muscle showing. i was in pretty good shape in 2006 and got horribly discouraged due to problems with a particular ******. i haven't really gave a shit at all what i ate or what shape i was in since then. i will be doing this old old school way and i don't mean my age... food and exercise. a clean diet, weight training and activities like hiking on the river with my son. i want to be between 150 and 160 by the end of the contest.

pics when i get a paper and get them taken.

Built you have already helped me by telling Kathybird fruits will make her hungry... I was going to pick up a bunch of fruit tomorrow. Now I'm thinking salmon and veggies. I have some very strenuous projects going , like tearing down my landlord's garage with a hammer and elbow grease to make my backyard bigger, carrying backpacks full of bricks up from the river to make a flower garden etc, so I think if I add a full body workout every other day I should start losing weight and firming up pretty well. I'm going from a sit on my ass all winter lifestyle to that so the moving my body part seems ok as long as I don't over do it.

For food I love oatmeal.. call me weird, yogurt, fish, grains like quinoa, sweet potato,
all vegetables. I'm thinking if I cut out all the shit I eat and stick to the healthy stuff and work my ass off on my projects maybe I don't need to sweat the protein/fat/carb ratio... but I'm probably wrong.

On my feet all day painting my kitchen, scraping paint off my cupboards, doing yard work, and walking my dog in the woods. Food was eggs and lowfat cheese, veggies and chicken, black coffee, tea and lots of water.

Where do you carry your weight?

If you carry it in your ass/legs, you'll probably feel fuller if you limit your carbs and crank the proteins and fats.

If you carry it in your middle or evenly, it's a crap-shoot, but you may find carbs, fruits and grains - along with protein and very large, bulky meals - make you fuller.

Do you feel full for a long time after eating a meal that has carbs in it and a lot of protein, but little fat? For example, chicken and brown rice with broccoli. Or do you want to eat again within a few hours when you do this?

Steam up some broccoli and/or cauliflower; puree it with some skim milk powder and some salt and pepper, toss in a little yogurt to finish it. Throw that back in the pan with the steak drippings and heat it up a bit; pat of butter on top and you're good to go.

today was a shitty stressful dealing with bs day. walked for half hour and am mentally exhausted from trying to talk sense to the public school system here. i wish they would pick up a sharp stick so i could mace them.

will try n get a paper tomorrow n take pics.

Egg whites will NOT fill you up. Neither will oatmeal and blueberries. Save those for pre or post workout.

How many calories are you aiming for?

2,500 and see where it goes, add or subtract as needed. i don't have a serving of oatmeal i have a generous bowl of it and stay busy most of the day. i don't notice hunger until i start settling down at night. i like to eat between 7 and 9 n go to bed late. the egg whites were just for a bit more protein, i have nothing against yolks.

i def could do avocado, tuna and cottage cheese in the morning. open to and appreciate your suggestions. thank you.

If the oatmeal fills you up that well, leave it alone. I might suggest a more satisfying protein though, than egg whites. Eggwhites do not promote an important mediator of satiety in humans: CCK (although they do in rats) http://jn.nutrition.org/content/134/11/3011.full.pdf

    DISCUSSION
The results of these studies show that protein source, quantity,
and composition of protein preloads and time of food
consumption in the morning are factors determining the effect
of protein ingestion on short-term food intake in humans.
The importance of protein source for its effect on food
intake is clearly illustrated. Whey consistently resulted in the
greatest food intake suppression, decreasing food intake relative
to control and sucrose, as well as in comparison with egg
    albumen and soy protein.
Whey (45–50 g) reduced food intake
when consumed either 60 min (Expts. 1 and 2) or 2 h later
(Expt. 3). An unexpected observation was that egg albumen
preloads did not suppress food intake and resulted in cumulative
energy intakes that were higher than after the control
    treatments,
an effect that was accentuated when the subjects
arrived late compared with earlier in the morning (Table 2).
Because egg albumen, whey, and soy are high-quality proteins
for meeting the amino acid requirements of humans (16),
it is highly unlikely that suppression of food intake after whey
and soy protein can be attributed to a single amino acid
imbalance and depletion in the central nervous system, as
occurs with amino acid–imbalanced diets or diets deficient in
an amino acid (17). Rather differences in the effect of these
protein sources on food intake are more likely due to their
effects on pre- and postmetabolic responses.
The failure of egg protein to suppress food intake in these
young men was surprising and is in contrast to its effect on
food intake in rats (18). Digestibility is an unlikely explanation.
Spray-dried egg white powder as used in the present
studies, was estimated to have a digestibility of 92–97% in
nitrogen balance studies (19), and cooked egg white was
estimated to be 94% digestible by stable isotope techniques
    (20,21).
A more likely explanation might reside in the effect of egg
albumen on satiety hormones. In rats, egg albumen suppresses
food intake and leads to activation of cholecystokinin-A
(CCKA) receptors (18), but in humans, egg whites, in contrast
to whole egg or egg yolk, do not raise the blood concentration
of CCK (22). Other satiety hormones also appear to be stimulated
less by egg albumen than by other proteins. Because
insulin is a satiety hormone (23), the low plasma insulin
concentrations observed after egg, compared with ham consumed
at breakfast (24), may also explain its failure to affect
food intake in the present study.

of protein ingestion on short-term food intake in humans.
(Expt. 3). An unexpected observation was that egg albumen
preloads did not suppress food intake and resulted in cumulative
energy intakes that were higher than after the control
treatments, an effect that was accentuated when the subjects
arrived late compared with earlier in the morning (Table 2).
