Any correlation between sore traps and bad chest workout? Also work out when i m sore?

Had a bad chest workout..couldn't complete last reps at DB press and BB press and i m thinking if it s because of my traps cuz they were sore.
I asked in other forums and they told me it could possibly be this.
I know DOMS affect muscle strength so if that is the cause..what s the point training when you are sore?If you won t be able to move any more weight than the last time when you are sore, maybe even less than the last workout what is the point of working out sore? You won't progress at all...

can someone explain me why people say that we should workout even when we are sore ?

DOMS and soreness are different. Pick one.

How many days of rest did you take between shoulder exercises? Whether you are pushing or pulling, there are a lot of accessory muscles used in shoulder stabilization that have to recover before you do another shoulder exercise.

And you can work out even when sore because it still produces an adaptation response, which will cause your muscles to grow.
