A New Beginning....Deja Vu!!

Ok, as you can see from my profile, I'm not really a "New Member" but I might as well be one since I haven't been on this site in like...umm, 3 years? And i'm back, again....to try and help myself. I'm now 39, right around the corner of 40...years ago when I started I went all out with the gym/diet and did well, but due to family reasons I had to stop. Unfortunately I couldn't find the will to start again. Now, for the first time in my life, i'm consistantly over 200 lbs, have a Cholesterol of 262 (with my good CHL reading really low), have a family history of diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and all those other goodies. I've been having bulging disc issues for years now since my core is actually getting bigger and not stronger.

I'm 6'3", 210 lbs (give or take) and actually look thin to most people. I hide my growing "tire" well I guess. Not well enough that my wife hasn't noticed though and has been all over my ass to get healthy b/c she doesn't want to watch me ruin my health infront of her and the kids.

So, i'm trying.....trying to get into the habit of hitting the gym again. I've been cutting back my diet....not eating fast foods, staying away from fried foods, more fruit and veggies, that sorta thing. But in the end, it's going to take more then just diet to get me healthy again....exercise is just as key. But i'm a self admitted procrastinator and it's hard getting started.

So, here I go....again. Hopefully you'll be seeing me around again. Because when I was here years ago, this place and it's people helping me keep the momentum going for me...helped keep my drive. I hope I can find that drive again.
