beginner twice over

My name is Frederick and I live in Vancouver, Washington. I've always had a love for bodybuilding but never thought I could look like Mike Mentzer, Tom Platz nor Arnold because of my smaller bone structure. I've lifted weights using pyramid training in high school but that was nearly 10 years ago. I want to quit smoking and live a healthier life than I am and think that bodybuilding will do it as it will give me more confidence as well. I've read Mike Mentzer's H.I.T. and am astonished, but at the same time confused because he dissagrees with one of his idols Bill Pearl in the aspect of training to failure. I'm still saving money for a bench and more weights but have not yet started because I haven't written my goals down yet. I'm still unsure how far I want to go.

Mike Mentzer's H.I.T is a very popular training method. Welcome to IM!

I just got my bench. A little dissapointed in the weight capacity on the extension excercises but am looking foreward to adding to my weight plate collection. I only have about 70 pounds so far.
