Smile Am fat, lazy and have turned a new leaf!

Hi im louise im a newbie here. im from birmingham united kingdom. im 25 and large. ive just lost 20pounds in 4 weeks on my own diet and am looking to get like my old self again.

when i left school (16) i was local javelin, shotput, and discuss champ. i had a good physique but wanted better. so i started training. i lost all my puppy fat and became 18 stone of muscle. i had an accident whilst training for hammer throwing. i tore my right bicep muscle and dislocated my shoulder.

i was 20 then and as you can imagine i was very upset about it. went into depression gained 6 stone and have been a fat blubber ever since. it was my fault i didnt get back into training as i used my bicep injury as a cop out, i think having all that time off made me lazy (and fat).

so now i sit here 20 pounds lighter than 4 weeks ago and am determined to get into shape!

the only worry i have now is my knee, because i have become so heavy my knee cant take it. im 6ft though and am very nimble and supple for a woman of my size.

So watch this space. in 6 to 8 months youll see a new me!
thanks for looking
Louise

Gamergirl welcome to IM!

Congratulations on your weight loss, but losing 5lbs per week is too much. When you lose that much weight you're losing about 50% muscle. Please read up in the diet/nutrition forum for more info.

thanks

thanks everyone for your support. i am actually under a dietician and they have said that the 20pounds in 4 weeks is ok to start off with, due to the fact that i am extremley overweight. most fat people loose alot in their first few weeks.

but i shall check out the diet and nutrician guys!!!!

Welcome. I know the pain of being large, way to go one your choice of getting into shape. About your knees try exercises that you sit and use the bike for cardio doesn't hurt the knees so much.
