Hi, I am a 27 year old mother of 2. I have allways been a small girl, 5'7 and 115lbs before having kids. Ever since I've given birth, my weight has gone down...now I range 100-105lbs. I am told I am very attractive, and some girls tell me they wish to be my size, but its really hurting me. I have a hard time gaining weight, and my DR. won't help..he just says it will catch up with me soon. I don't think so though. People think I don't eat, but I CAN EAT!! I have put some men to shame, but still its upseting me to be thin. I know muscle will help, but I don't want to be too muscular. Besides I don't have breasts after breastfeeding, and I can't lose what is left. I try to search on gaining weight, but everything is about loseing it. It frustrates me to see young girls trying to be thin, and I wish they knew what people like me go through, they my change their minds. Anyways, if there is someone who can help, please do. I wish the best to all....Thanks![]()

well you should probably start by telling us what you typically eat.
......I eat everything. I love my Pastas, and breads. I bake alot, so lots of sweets. Well, I really do eat everything, I am in good health. I do get a bit low on folic acid, but I don't take suppliments for that...I eat spinach, and drink lots of orange juice. Its not a thyroid problem, I have been checked. I hope that helps.....and thanks for the welcome Robert, glad to have joined![]()
Hello NeedFAT,
I went through nearly the same thing after having my kids. (I had three) I'm also 5'7" and everyone throught that I was starving myself. I was eating like a horse!
First...It is very difficult for a woman to become 'too muscular'. I started weight training back in my teens after an injury. Lifted in between pregnancies and then went back to lifting 3 days a week after my daughter (#3) was born. I lifted intermitently throughout my 20's and 30's to help stay in shape. I'm in my 40's now and lifting 4 days a week. (I'm recovering from some surgeries and a tick borne disease.)
Lifting and eating a diet that will help you build muscle has some great benefits! I didn't nurse my kids, but I wasn't too happy with what pregnancy did to my chest! Lifting gave me back some nice pec muscles and has helped my chest look much prettier, fuller and rounder and defined. I certainly don't have that 'flat' post-pregnancy/nursing look anymore.
I think you will find that if you put together a good lifting routine 3-4 days a week. Keep your cardio to a minimum of say 20 minutes 3 times a week. (Need some for your heart!) Don't be afraid to lift heavy! Lifting heavy is a skinny girls best friend!Keep your repetitions on the lower side...6-8, 10 at the most and get yourself on a bit of a clean 'bulking' diet that you will be very happy with the gains you get.
Now alot of what I just told you probably sounds very technical and 'foreign' if you have never lifted weights before. Check out the informative 'Stickys' at the top of each section and ask questions!
Remember the only 'stupid' question is the question that is never asked.
And don't let anyone fool you...lean muscle on a chick is totally sexxi.![]()
