    Help finding a good gym

I'm on the fence right now of joining a gym, but the only thing holding me back is which one to join. I've read reviews of different gyms on the internet but reading those you can read 1 good review, then a bad review, then a good review, etc. It doesn't give me any consistency if the gym is quality or not.

The only gyms I'm aware of around my area are Gold's, LA Fitness and I think Bally fitness, not sure about that last one though.

Anyway, where do you all go and where would you reccomend? The general consensus is that you're going to pay more for "health/fitness centers" where they have pools and other amenities. Needless to say I don't need any of that.

Is Gold's any good? what about the other two? The only thing i'd really like to avoid is hellish contracts that are a pain in the ass to cancel(which pretty much all reviews stated).

i suggest visiting them in person and seeing if you can get a guest pass for a couple of days. (most places will accomodate you) train at the time you normally would and see what feels like the best "fit" for you. i personally HATE bally's and 24 hour fitness and LA Fitness but there are many people here who belong to them and are perfectly happy.

also, you'll find that one gold's can be a lot different than one a town or two over so you really need to check them out for yourself.

oh - and welcome to im
