Uh..hello...

Hey, I'm Jim from WI and a good friend of mine told me Ironmag forums would help me out (please).

Here's my situation, I'm a college student who's last semester was less than kind to me. I gained A LOT of weight (the bad kind), lost my endurance, got into a bad fight and have had to protect my little sis from a real psycho. My friend James from UW-Madison told me this forum really helped him get back into shape, so he recomended it to me.

I used to be a runner all throughout high school, track and cross-country, and went to state three years in a row. But I always wanted to exchange my 5'10", 145 lb skinny physique for a football player's. Now, I'd like to exchange my 175 flabby physique for a much bigger, leaner one, now that I have more time.

I know almost NOTHING about lifting, other than a few exersises, and really could use any help you can give me so I can actually take my shirt off this summer.

Thanks.

Sounds like you need to cut. Get in the gym. Eat right. Stop drinking. Start taking charge of your nutrition and fitness.

Lift hard everytime youre there. Do Max-OT Cardio or HIIT Cardio. Check out the Training Forums for help on that.

Bump up your protein, moderate your carbs, cut out bad fats and regulate good ones. Check out the Nutrition Forums for help on that.

Good luck, and welcome to IronMag.

Wow, bodybuilder's arent all 4$$h073$ after all! Thanks for the welcome.

Today was an experience, first time in a weight room voluntarily, ever. To my complete surprise, not everyone there was built like those guys on the cover of magazines or egomaniacs who look down on "lesser" people.

I guess I'll have to start a thread in training and diet soon to get more advice...
